Here's how I learned that the temperature and level check procedure matters
I drained my Touareg while hot, and measured the ATF. I put in the same amount of ambient ATF.
I had to do the level check procedure 3 times, it was so overfilled.
Now I drain at ambient, measure at ambient, and...
It's actually the Registered symbol and it goes after dexos but before the quantifier.

I always forget the “bottom box” because I don’t have one.
For something like that I might try to flush it out and use a grease gun with a needle tip to get something stout in there.

Like it never happened. I think the CSF radiator is a nicer unit than the Liland. Brass vs aluminum, dual core vs single, and it has a higher fin density.
The oil is the same regardless of vendor, and if you take advantage of the part store's oil+filter deals I think you'll find they're on-par or cheaper than Wal-Mart.
Don't know how many valve adjustments I've done in my my life, across a myriad of cars. This was my fourth (fifth?) on this Trooper.

When doing a valve adjustment and using a ratchet to turn the crank, it is very important to remove the ratchet before starting the car.
New radiator and fan blade on the way.
