    2016 Audi Q5 3.0L - Liqui Moly 5w40

The 2016 Maintenance Guide shows that "VW 502 00" spec'd oil would need to be "synthetic oil SAE 5W-40, SAE 5W-30 or SAE 0W-40". Does this mean that my 5w-40 sheering down to a 30w would be a reason not to worry? Either way I will try Castrol during the next oil change.

    2016 Audi Q5 3.0L - Liqui Moly 5w40

This car was bought new and at around 3,000 miles, was upgraded to a GIAC Stage 2 Q5. Below is my used oil analysis from about 5 months of use and 4,050 miles. the oil was about 1/4 quart low which I take to be negligible. A few notes: The 12 ppm of Aluminum is actualy around 5 because a...

    Virgin LIQUI MOLY 2331

Seems this oil's viscosity is a little thinner then its predecessor (2040), but still a good oil. I didnt get TBN because I change oil once each 5,000 miles.

Battery Light Refuses to turn off

I tried using my $100 scanner and it returned no codes. When Hersons Honda did there initial diagnoses, they used there scanner to reset my car and also found no codes. Additionally, my mechanic checked and found no codes. Its really weird. Must be something wrong electrically. Will have to...

Battery Light Refuses to turn off

Honda ran its scan tool as did I and so did my mechanic. No codes were returned. I took out the ECU Fuse under the hood and put it back in after 10 minutes to reset the system. The battery light still came on right away.

Battery Light Refuses to turn off

Great posts guys. Thanks a ton. Since my battery was only 3 weeks old, I replaced it with a new one from advance auto parts and tested the draw from the battery. It was .05 amps. So nothing is wrong from the battery point of view. I will attempt to investigate what you guys said this Sunday...

Battery Light Refuses to turn off

1.) The car is completely stock. 2.) Before this light turned on, the alternator belt was making a weird noise (Saturday morning). I still drove it on Saturday because I couldn't take it to the mechanic right away. That night the battery light came. At 3 am Sunday morning I got stuck (while out...

My car is a 2001 Honda Civic Ex. I have already replaced the battery and alternator and the light remains on.

Battery Light Refuses to turn off

The tech from Honda said that most likely there’s a short in the line going from the ECU to my dash. I am not sure how correct he is though. They want to charge $350 to take apart my dash and trace some wires. If that is not it he said that I still have to pay the $350 because of the labor used...

Battery Light Refuses to turn off

Car is a 2001 Honda Civic 2DR EX Coupe. First let me prefix this by saying I have already searched and read every thread in regards to the Battery Light staying on. I took my car to my mechanic and he first tried to turn if off but could not. I then took it to Hersons Honda who also cant...

Check the fuses. There was a post on this topic on a civic forum a while back and it ended up being the fuse.

Havoline 5w20 01 Honda Civic 3160mi (Coolant Leak?)

IslaVistaMan , Yes, I am running the OEM Blue honda coolant. I have a factory manual but figure that paying the mechanic $82 (includes gallon of hodna OEM Coolant) is better. would spend more then a couple hours replacing it when adding up prep time, getting supplies, and the actualy repair.

Havoline 5w20 01 Honda Civic 3160mi (Coolant Leak?)

Update. Took the car to get diagnosed at the Dealer (cost was $56), and they found a small leak near the top of the radiator (close to where you add coolant to the radiator). I bought another radiator and have a mechanic that will install it for me for not to expensive. I guess I have 2 leaks now.

Havoline 5w20 01 Honda Civic 3160mi (Coolant Leak?)

Drew99GT, I have been recently noticing coolant loss. I have had to top of the overflow twice already. Not only that, once I had to take the radiator cap off and keep filling the radiator with coolant because there must have been a air bubble in the system. I say that because even though I had...

Havoline 5w20 01 Honda Civic 3160mi (Coolant Leak?)

Pablo, I drive my civic pretty hard. I maintain it well though. MTF changes every 25-30k miles, oil changes every 4k, every 2 years I change the coolant and brake fluid, and every 3 years I change the power steering fluid & clutch fluid. I have had 1 recall that needed to be fixed. Other then...

Havoline 5w20 01 Honda Civic 3160mi (Coolant Leak?)

I think I have an internal coolant leak. I checked all hoses, the overflow tank, radiator, radiator cap, and engine coolant drain plug. I did not see any external leaks. I even changed the radiator cap to make sure it wasn’t that. I took my car to the mechanic while he worked on my girl friends...
