Just took a few pics of the old girl before putting her away for the winter. It's the hardest thing I've done in a while, as the new engine is really sstarting to loosen up and run right.

They were all just driven in there and shut off. Most still have the keys in the ignition. The one in the picv is missing some small trim pieces around the grill, but all others are complete in every way and not in all that bad a shape considering their ages.

Here's a recent "find". There are 6 63-64 SS Impalas (3 convertibles and 3 hardtops - some with 409 engines) in this remote field.

Thanks. It cost a bit more than expected, but it's worth three times that. I'll be weeks wiping the silly grin off my face. Driving this truck is so much fun it should be illegal.

Yeah, it's not really a restoration...it's better than new. It's got a turbodiesel and 5-speed from a Jetta (they only came with non-turbo and 4-speed) and a Jetta/GTI interior with all the gauges, intermittent wipers, etc., etc., etc..

The engine is still very tight (new) so mileage and power aren't great yet. The last tank, I got 700km (435 miles) and still had over a quarter tank left. The tank holds about 15 US gallons.

It's a southern truck that was drug back here in 1991 when the project started. We replaced a fender and repaired a small floor hole, then media blasted the whole disassembled thing and painted her all. Then all parts were replaced, or rebuilt. She's a jem.

I just bought a totally rebuilt 1981 Rabbit pickup (AKA: Caddy)with a 1.6 turbodiesel and a 5-speed. Can anyone say "Massive fuel mileage"?. I changed the transmission to Redline MTL and will run Rotella synthetic once the engine is broken in on it's present Rotella T.

Here's my 03 Corolla S. At 230,000km, it still runs like new and uses about half a liter between changes (Mobil 1 with an oversize filter every 20,000km).
