FRAM ULTRA 9972 cartridge filter at 18k (pics)

Has anyone ran an Extra Guard for 10k recently? I did 10k last year on a Toyota and the filter still looked great as well. Wondering if that was the “cheapened” one or before the change.

Unscientific and not cut open. There’s only a little fraying on the outer edges. Two runs of Castrol Edge at 9k each in a 2009 Lexus ES350.

Would you let someone borrow your car for $40

That’s the state of the world man. It’s getting more and more evil. People expect everything and are thankless in return because they worship themselves. Don’t feel bad for denying the request.

Just had a Lowe’s deny sale of filters

This is the right answer. He explained it to me and it filled out the blanks in the situation for me in a PM. The employees of that store were sorely incompetent, and the fact that they couldn’t tell me what a forum member could makes total sense now. I do not know how that location stays open.

How’s PYB / PYBHM looking these days in SP formula?

PYB used to be one of the best oils money could buy in both its SM and SN formulations. I guess I’m technically an old school BITOG’er because I don’t check in that often anymore. I buy a ton of great oil at insane prices and then I forget about it for a few years until it’s time to hit the...

Price was $1.08 self checkout was used, it buzzed for a clerk for a price check. She said well that’s strange, we can’t sell them to you for that. It’s okay, I went next door to Home Depot and cleaned them out of the same filters for $1.40 each, BUT (c)2021, 3 years newer than Lowe’s dusty old...

Careful, if it’s too good of a deal they refuse the sale ($1.08 ea) and “donate them” instead. I said donate them to me. I’m in need….of them. She said no and walked away with them. Item in question was 5 FRAM orangies for my Ram 3500.

*Pennzoil Yellow Bottle / High Mileage (Conventional) Haven’t seen any VOAs of the SP formula on the internet. I know Pennzoil Syn has kind of taken a quality hit on paper as of late. Local hardware store has some for around $3.50 / qt so I wanted to check before I just got something...

10k oil change - Fram Orange x2, or Fram Ultra x1?

If you were running a 10k OCI, with primarily highway miles going to and from New Orleans from another parish, and you were using a quality synthetic oil such as Castrol EDGE or Mobil 1, would you prefer to run an orange FRAM and swap it out at 5k for a new orange FRAM, or just run the Ultra the...
