I had tried M1 0-40 for 12 months and 12k miles. The oil held up OK but the wear numbers were poor. Went back to 4k miles on the 0-40 shown above. When I tried MC 5-20 I got fussy, changed the oil, ran the oil for a day then new filter and another fresh 6 qts of oil so there should not be any...

Went to Walmart today and found they were out of Motorcraft 5-20 again. Then I looked closer and saw that instead of just being empty, the row of 5-20 had been replaced with 5-30 and the 5-20 price sticker on that area of the shelf was removed and replaced with a stiocker for 5-30. Only choice...

Anyone here have experience with "SuperLube" teflon spray lubricant? I have been using it recently with great results. It penetrates and loosens like WD40 but it leaves a real live teflon grease lube after the solvent dries.

You're talking real money here if those motors have to be torn down. Rather than only toss it out to the group you should contact Terry directly for advice. ....Certainly a cost effective path.......

Pictures of filter internals can give us some idea of the quality of the manufacture of a filter and this is a good start but it seems to be somewhat like buying stereo speakers out of a catalog because they look good. The pictures can't tell us how good the filtering is. Over at the UOA area...

I know there was some previous discussion here on the difference 0-30 vs 10-30 makes in MPG. Has anyone seen any noticable difference in MPG when switching from x-30 to x-40 wt oils? I like M1 0-40 but wonder if there actually would be a noticable drop in MPG compared to 0-30.
