Bluetooth Battery Monitor (BLE Battery Monitor) Warning - Major Spyware

It's for a car battery. People on other forums seem to call these things "BM2." Looks like the following.

Bluetooth Battery Monitor (BLE Battery Monitor) Warning - Major Spyware

I was thinking of buying some of these for some cars that are rarely driven... You need to install an app on your phone to use these. It turns out that the app is pretty abusive. The product collects GPS co-ordinates, cell phone tower data and nearby Wifi beacons Location data is sent over the...

    Prolong Hybrid Battery Reconditioning

I wanted to follow up on this, as it has been a while. I wound up buying new batteries after nursing my old ones around for another 10,000 miles or so on the Prolong system. So, ultimately, not a very good deal, and a lot of time spent reconditioning. Every battery pack will age differently, so...

    Prolong Hybrid Battery Reconditioning

Looks like you were wise to do this. I very recently bought the reconditioning kit for the family Prius V, and the new discharge limits are 134V, 101V, and 84V (see photo below). They may have also changed some of the current levels since it took me around 9 hours to run a discharge cycle alone...

I would hit it with an iron remover before claying (I don't even bother claying anymore, actually).

    Tiger Woods seriously hurt

It's one of the cars from the Genesis Invitational (PGA Tour) at the Riviera Country Club, which was held this weekend. Tiger wasn't playing due to an injury. He had been staying at the Terranea resort, apparently. That place is really nice, recommended, if you can afford it.

PEA and Amine-based Fuel System Additives

There's a paper from the SAE/Chevron dated Sept. 15, 2020: https://www.sae.org/publications/technical-papers/content/2020-01-2100/ There's apparently at least 2 types of PEA out there. From the abstract: Much of the paper is available if you hit the "preview document" in the above link. The...

    Noisy Flag Pole

I'd first try filling the center of the pole with foam (like the spray insulating foam) and if that didn't work sufficiently, then wrap the pole with some constrained layer damping (CLD) material. An example of CLD is dynamat. Something like this...

    Mazda2 2nd gear synchro Failure?

I don't know these cars at all so what I'm writing is just a guess. 1. Your clutch is dragging. 2. The dragging clutch killed your 2nd gear synchro. 3. A lot of these new cars have clutch delay valves, and Mazda is no exception. Clutch cushioning or something. Usually it's a tiny orifice, makes...

Volvo reinvents (sort of) a 1960s chev concept...

In the 90s when I was into turbos, someone was telling me of a drag racer in the 70s or 80s who was running a compressed air tank and pre-spooling his turbos. The drag racer was a car book author (not of turbos though). I just don't remember his name now.

    Having trouble bleeding brakes

Reverse bleeding sometimes is pretty awesome because air bubbles, being less dense than fluid, want to go up. You can use a new clean oil squirter and some tubing to make your own reverse bleeder. Depends on where the bubbles are... I guess. In the calipers, regular bleeding is better provided...
