    Anyone using Supertech Synthetic?

Supertech is fine oil..I wouldn't worry about using it. Runs fine in my older vehicles, and I drive like an Indy Driver.

$85 for an oil change? No thank you!

Everyone should know how to change their oil, especially on a Toyota or Lexus, when you probably don't even need to jack up the car. Better yet, find the neighborhood mechanic and give him the $85.

    Your RECENT experience with Hankook.

I love their winter I pikes, and I have the 727's on my other ride. Need to check the wear ratings when comparing tires. No tires seem to last to their warranty, but for $100 each,I can't complain. I'd rather buy $100 tires every couple years than $200 tires. Any tire can succumb to a puncture..I...

    Questions about my oil burner...

I would use the thickest cheapest oil you can find and don't worry about oci's. Change the filter maybe every so often. Have a reputable mechanic take it back apart and replace the rings. All that oil is going to eventually equal the cost of the ring job.

    General Maintenance on a Motorcycle

Valve adjustments-check interval and type of adjustments needed. Some require shims, which must be on hand at time of adjustment. Tires, lots of tires...compounds usually last about 7-10k. Steering head bearings about 50,000 miles. Brakes...depends.

    Best lube for door hinges?

I use motor oil for lubrication,as grease seems to make a mess. I dip my keys in motor oil to lubricate lock mechs.

Which is cheaper, new or used?

$10,000 used car at 5% interest 60 months=$189 per month $20,000 new car 0% interest 60 months=$333 New car, near zero repairs and a decent resale value after 5 years. Used car=???

Which is cheaper, new or used?

I'd rather budget a car payment, than have repair bills pop up at the worst time. The interest rate is horrible on used vehicles . Paying cash is the smartest way to buy a vehicle..but most people I know live paycheck to paycheck...not a lot of choices.

    Bent steel wheel

I would hit up a wrecker for a new wheel and use the old one for a spare. Hard enough to balance a perfect wheel and tire. At least move it to the rear to minimize wear to the front.

07' Chevy 5.3...Massive oil Burner? Chevy problem?

Diesel like delvac 15w40 if your climate isn't too cold. I would also check for leaks, oil pressure sending unit, main seals,PCV if present could be feeding oil back through the combustion cycle. What do your plugs look like?

Buying R-12 on flea bay, would you?

The law states American companies cannot produce r12,nothing against buying or using it. Still manufactured in Mexico. If you really want r12..go for it. I'd just convert to 134...much cheaper.
