First oil change new (to me) Tundra 5.7

Well, I finally got it done. It was not without drama. Thankfully all is well. The short version: skid plate was missing bolts, the canister drain bolt was way too tight and the entire canister tried to unscrew when I tried to remove the canister drain bolt. I had to figure out a way to hold it...

First oil change new (to me) Tundra 5.7

Thanks for the advice. Stay tuned, I bought the motivX canister drain tool. So I'm going to wait a few more days. I decided to try to control the mess as best as possible.

First oil change new (to me) Tundra 5.7

Thanks for the advice. Stay tuned, I bought the motivX canister drain tool seen below. I'm going to wait a few more days to change the oil. How many of you would stick with 0w-20 and who would go with 5w-30? Thank you all again.

First oil change new (to me) Tundra 5.7

I'm thinking 5-6k oil change intervals. I enjoy changing oil and I feel like oil doesn't owe me anything at that point so no need to stretch it out.

First oil change new (to me) Tundra 5.7

I am thrilled with my new to me 2018 Tundra 5.7. tomorrow I'm planning my first oil change. Backstory, I still have my 2003 3.4 Tacoma (engine blew at 125k for no apparent reason) rebuilt a junk yard engine and now we are at 305k. I used PYB 5w30 for a long time in that truck and then switched...

    New Mower With kawasaki engine

So... I have bought and have on hand for this job: M1 10w-30 Rotella T6 5w-40 Rotella T6 15w-40 I'm still thinking about which oil I will use. If I have a warranty issue with the engine can Kawasaki refuse to cover it if I use a HDEO? The manual "recommends SJ or SL" will a ck-4, cj-4 HDEO be...

    New Mower With kawasaki engine

So the T6 15-40 would fit that bill if I'm right? I'm generally not this picky but many many air cooled mower engines have died early. They overheat, or they leak then overheat. Goal is to do the best maintenance possible.

    New Mower With kawasaki engine

So far I like it a lot. I've only got 14 hours on it. The cut quality is really good. The geometry of the machine is good. It does not scalp unless you really find some holes or uneven ground, which is the trick for 61" mowers. The seat is great, full suspension. The front tires are wide and...

    New Mower With kawasaki engine

So far I love it. I've got an acre of grass and I cut about 10 other yards of various sizes. The last mower is 20 years old and got there on sae30 ybp and still runs but leaks. I may try to find T6 15-40.... That seems like a reason choice. I think the Kawasaki oil is a synthetic blend with...

    New Mower With kawasaki engine

I have a new Scag Tigercat II with a 26hp Kawasaki efi engine. Specifically the FT 730vefi. I am at 14 hours and ready to change the oil ahead of the 20 hour first dump interval. I would like to use a synthetic. I have always used Pennzoil platinum in my trucks. And rotella t3 15w-40 in my...

    New (used) car. What oil?

At 300k miles the 01 Accord smokes none but uses (leaks) about a half a quart between oil changes at 5-6k mile oil chany intervals. Usually Quaker state or super tech 5w-20...I say leaks because the valve cover gasket has a small leak and there is a drip underneath that I suspect is probably the...

    New (used) car. What oil?

I had read about the muzzler. Do you have first hand experience with same? The vcm was.one of the reasons I was looking in to top shelf synthetic oils.

    New (used) car. What oil?

Yeah but I thought I might finally justify buying some synthetic Pennzoil platinum or rotella t6 of some sort. I see the Napa synthetic on sale which is tempting... Side note the wife has a 6 mile commute to work, not sure if that short trip should factor in.

    New (used) car. What oil?

She is a 2011 Honda Pilot 3.5 Engine. What oil would you recommend? I have been a PYB guy for my 03 Tacoma and nearly anything in the 01 Accord which runs like a sewing machine. Interested in any advice... The pilot specs 5w-20 but I'm not opposed to other weights. 130k on the clock.

I would find a shelter kept, low hour, used machine and I am sure that I could find something seriously better than new for that price.
