Traded off the 08 impreza for something bigger. Found a really nice 2015 Ford Fusion with the 2.0 ecoboost. The vehicle had only 24k miles! I am really impressed with the power of the ecoboost. Anyway the OLM showed about 65% left and the dealer had changed the oil when they got it in. I think...

This is going in a 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i with about 70k miles. We are probably trading it off next year. It's not really a beater but not new either. I cannot foresee a one time OC giving a problem but maybe prolonged OC like this could?

I cannot get the link to open but without seeing a pic of the helmet you may need to just get a street shield and that is all. A snowmobile shield is not approved for street use. it also would not be very durable against repeated cleanings of bugs and such.

I am also approaching a 4k on my Triumph Street Triple R. I am using the Castrol 10w50 and the transmission is really smooth still. Triumph recommends a 6k OCI, It seems hard to believe to go that long on something with a shared sump. I will likely keep my OCI at 4k.

Has there ever been a report on here where a person sent off a UOA stating the oil was one brand or type and the test shows something else was in there? Example would be having the dealer put in a synthetic oil and a UOA finds it to be conventional.

I assume I can expect very similar results if / when I use other oils such as M1, Castrol Edge, and PP. I have a stock of Castrol Edge (gold bottle) 10w30, PP 5w30, and QSUD 5w30. This test was not the Pure Plus formula and this is a Non Turbo model. I would consider this to be near severe use...

Just sent off the sample. I did ask for a TBN. Oil being sent in is PP 5w30.

I am about to send in an oil sample from our 2008 Impreza non turbo. I am not sure if I should get the TBN? I ran this o/c for 5500 mi / 8 months. This is somewhat severe use because of short trips.
