The "service vehicle soon" light on 03 Impala flashes continuously but the codes from the body control module are spurious. What's the downside of ignoring this since replacing the module and programming is about $500 at the dealer?

I checked the owners manual and it says that the light will come on if you have engine problems. It further states that the problems may not be obvious and may not affect performance or durability. Don't know what to make of that. There is no obvious problem.

The dealership service facilities carry so much overhead that it practically guarantees a rip-off. Expensive real estate, a team of service writers, and minimal reimbursement for warranty work from manufacturers create a climate that is stacked against the consumer. I prefer independent shops...

I understand that the company is owned by Siemens and they recycle over 2 million gallons of glycol per year so the product likely finds its way into other brands of coolant as well...

Actually, it's the glycol that is recycled and reused to make new anti-freeze....

I'm glad the stuff is being recycled, hate to think of the stuff going into the water supply. We already have the most polluted rivers in the U.S.

IMO the bulging hood is offensive. We bought the Venza instead. The whole thing bulges.

I removed one of the lugnuts on my Toyota Venza to find two washers. Can someone explain their purpose? My guess is that they help you hand torque the nuts cause you can feel the slack going away.

Be sure to check the radiator cap; I had a similar coolant loss and it was a faulty cap.
