I'd recommend using a good engine flush first. If you won't, or don't, then watch for sudden increase in oil consumption after a few thousand miles. If that happens, change the filter and top off. Depending on amount of sludge, may take a couple of filter changes. I'd start with something like...

If you do drop the pan and change the filter and fluid, put a drain plug in the pan. Should be able to pick one up for a couple of bucks. Just be sure it doesn't interfere with anything. Then, the next time you change the fluid partly, or drop the pan, just pull the plug and let the pan fluid drain.

Change at least the fluid in the pan and the filter. If that solves the shudder, consider changing the fluid to AMSOIL (or at least another synthetic) after another 10K miles or so.

The Saber with the Quickshot in it ids designed to protect for a season., not long-term storage. I'd suggest you mix no more than what you will use within a couple of months, though I'm sure it will last longer. You'll probably get better performance if you mix it at 85-100 to 1, as recommended.

Yannick- There is a reason AMSOIL has formulated a marine oil. Go to their website and read the data sheet. One the the techs in a shop which uses a lot of AMSOIL just got a boat with a Volvo engine. We talked about, and he opted for the marine oil.

AMSOIL has been working very closely with Lubrizol for as long as I can remember (over 30 years). I suppose one could call it white propaganda.

Having towed a few Saab over the years--rent a tow dolly, have someone to help you push the car up on the dolly, and get it home. You don't want to be somewhere on the side of the road. If you want to change the fluid and try it around the block, do it at home.

I think it was primarily the color. For what it may be worth, it was an excellent tool for demonstrating the ability of the AMSOIL Bypass Filter of the day to remove particles--cleaned up the ARCO graphite.
