People who trade in vehicles after 0-2 years for silly reasons. Are people really this bad with finances?

Not retail therapy at all. I don’t do it for the rush, I do it because I love cars, bikes, boat etc. As I mentioned, I am very fortunate financially from crazy hard work and some luck, and can do this without financing and does not affect my family finances. Some people golf, some love to...

People who trade in vehicles after 0-2 years for silly reasons. Are people really this bad with finances?

I have owned more than 65 new cars over my lifetime, plenty kept short term and none ever kept more than 4 years. I understand they are not an investment. I am incredibly good with finances, which affords me the opportunity to buy what I want on a whim, and sell when the fun factor ends. Cars...

Please enlighten me on ozone machine

I have a similar unit and use it in cars and houses. It works but I am cautious about the degradation it can cause if over used in a space.

    single-family home market in Florida

We keep a retirement home in SWFL, Estero/Bonita/Naples area. Single family, 4/3, built in 2020. Insurance is a challenge, but is location dependent. We are 5 miles from the Gulf. We spent under ~2.2k yr for insurance. Not crazy. Not a fan of the political stance here at times, but I like warm...

Michelin Defender LTX MS/2 or Continental terrain HT?

I have had both. Michelins did better for me on wear. The Conti’s would have been spent by 40k but I traded the truck. I think the Michelins were more responsive for direction control.

Toyota Expands Tundra/Lexus Recall of 3.4TT

I had a weak moment and purchased a ‘24 Tundra 1794. Great looking truck, well loaded with options and a relative bargain. Motor and transmission combination is terrific for driving and towing (I have a 8500 lb boat). However, after living with it for a while all the little things in the truck...

article: why HOAs continue to be popular

Bingo….. HOA living is not for everyone. You give up individual freedoms in exchange for community living, amenities, freedom from maintaining exterior aspects, etc. but it is all clearly spelled out ahead of purchase -IF you read it. This is the biggest issue, buyers not paying attention to...

article: why HOAs continue to be popular

I am the president of an HOA in a large Florida community. I can see both sides of the argument for and against HOA. In a well run HOA it creates what the article describes. Unfortunately there are plenty of poorly run HOA’s that grab the media attention. Local news doesn’t come to our community...

brake fluid change required to pass PA inspection?

It was $465 including the flush. Then taxes, etc on top. I chose to pay it as my time make an appointment, to go somewhere else and wait again has value to me. My question was the need for a flush, and them refusing to do a brake job without one. I appreciate everyone’s input, feel like it was fine.

brake fluid change required to pass PA inspection?

Son’s 2020 Nissan Sentra due for Pa safety inspection (already such a scam). Needed rear brakes and rotors, not surprised. So I had a choice to leave with the car and get the work done elsewhere and get re-inspected, or let them fix it during this appointment. The brakes and rotors were $350 ish...

    Continental TerrainContact H/T.

I have used them on a full size truck and suv. Good tires, solid performance. If they are not noticeably less expensive then the Michelins, I would go Michelin for better tread life.

Popular Ceramic/Sealant Spray to the Test

Didn’t watch the video closely, but I have used several of those products and his results are significantly different, and worse, than my experience. Specifically turtle wax sns and griots 3n1 both give several months of water beading, especially on hoods and roofs, up to 6 months. He did...
