New furnace required - advice welcomed

Just had a 30 year old Lennox replaced with a new Lennox unit back in December. After the initial sticker shock, I'm totally satisfied. Old unit was also 80% efficient and new one's 96% 2-stage. My installer explained the need for a liner was because the water heater doesn't produce enough heat...

Oil rec to quiet high mileage Honda

Well, I picked up a jug of 5w-30 Magnatec. Never used it. Always up for trying something new. I also got some Hondabond gasket maker adhesive, because (fun fact) Honda doesn't make an oil pan gasket for this motor. It is glued from the factory. So, as soon as I get around to that little project...

Oil rec to quiet high mileage Honda

Hello all, long time lurker, first time poster. I'm looking for ideas to quiet down an old, but still strong Honda Civic with the D17A2 VTEC motor. It's a 2003 that's pushing 300k miles on the clock and I plan to drive it and keep it going until it falls apart. My ownership of the vehicle has...

OK thanks for the input. I'm going to run a round of ARX treatment with Castrol GTX and then give some GC a try. I think since it's thicker than most 30wt. oils that it may increase my oil pressure and quiet things down in the valvetrain and rockers. maybe.

BMW e36 328is Winter Short Trips - Suggestions

To the OP, Are you at GVSU by chance? I ask because I am a Laker myself! As perilous as it may be walking along campus drive, it is likely even more dangerous being on the road in that nasty winter weather! Unlike those posts that always get hit, you can move! Don't you live near a bus route...

    M1 0w-30 in engine w/ 195k?

Hey BITOGers I am thinking of trying out M1 0w30 in my 93 dodge minivan, just because I've always wanted to try it and to see what it does for my mileage, if anything. The car has has 195k mi on it. It currently has M1 5w30 in it, which has been in there for 7.5k mi, and I think is due for an...
