You can technically use 0w-16, but the manual states you're supposed to go back to 0w-8 the next oil change. My MIL just purchased a 2026 Camry LE. Awesome car so far. I plan to change the oil every 5K with 0w-16, and the dealer can change the oil using the 0w8 at 10K and 20K free maintenance...

No, it's clearly not a marketing scam as they have established criteria, and it is well above the EPA minimum for detergency in fuel. Its up to the company as to whether or not they want to pay to be Top Tier. BP is probably Top Tier quality, but they don't want to pay the fee.
