The fluid was roasted and black. Looked like diesel oil.

Yes, when I took the piston out that’s what it looked like. Didn’t find any other pieces in the drum, but found some in the valve body. That’s why I said I am very impressed it actually moved forward.

I would remove as much as the original coating as you can with a pressure washer and use Noxudol 300 and 700

300K on 7.3 injectors is good life. I’d look into getting a new set if you plan on keeping the truck

Owner took the truck with the series 60 ona couple hour road trip, report is all seems to be well. He’ll be driving to Tennessee next weekend to pick up his 45 foot race car trailer tow it to South Carolina I believe for the next race. They race pro stock

Almost .9% soot in 4300 miles, that’s quite a bit IMO. Otherwise looks good.

Finished up the series 60. Owner is Going to put some miles on it this weekend. Runs good with good oil pressure and no more combustion gas in the cooling system. I’d post a video, won’t let me though.
