Just put a Fram Tough Guard air filter on my Chev. It's oiled on one side (no dripping, no plastic covering in the box). If you want an oiled filter, what's wrong with this one instead of messing with a K & N? By the way, you can't see through it when you hold it up to the light and it's well made.

If you choose to re-use a filter, do you take it off and let it drain before putting it back on or just drain whatever is in the pan?

I have a Chev with a 3.4. It takes a Fram 3387A. The Fram 3980 XGuard fits just fine.

I want to go fron a Fram XG 3387a to a Fram XG 3980 to get increased filter capacity. I know it fits. Is this a good upgrade? thanks
