OP has been gone a while - but asking a question: Some systems use an orifice - but if one was to by a dual remote kit - and screw on one 20-30 micron - side by side with one even finer - would not the basic filter get the lions share of flow and a small portion pass the tighter filter - same...

Geez - a run on a quality synthetic would be a good first pass.
