Mobil 1 5W-30 High Mileage Virgin Oil

I've ran this oil in my 2UZ-FE several times and it seems to have been great. Mainly ran it when I first bought my LandCruiser with 120k miles and wanted a good cleaning oil. I now mix it with extended performance to gain the best of both products. I just put it in my 3UZ-FE (100%) and it's...

    free toyota camry!

First find out if it is burning oil or leaking most of the oil out. Higher weight oil will help stop any oil burn off, but a leak is a leak until fixed correctly. Car should run another 200K miles on the engine and tranny if you baseline the fluids and get it back in order with the proper...

Mobil One - How Many Miles Do You Guys Run It?

I usually run 7500 miles on my toyotas. Mobil 1 is rated ACEA A5 for extended drains so I am sure it is capable of going further than 7500, but just not sure to what point. Since toyota said 7500 is good, I just stick with the OEM recomendation. That gets me 6-8 months between OCI's.

Mobil 1 5W-30 High Mileage VOA

How many OCi miles is a 13+ TBN worth? The PDS on M1 site is dated April 2010 so this should be the latest formulation.

Mobil 1 5W-30 High Mileage VOA

Found this on the internets I thought I would post it up for the benefit of the members here. Hard to believe the TBN is that high. Anyone know if it's accurate? I love this oil in my Toyota. VOA Mobil 1 5w-30 High Mileage * just to add some depth to this VOA, here is the link where I found...

    Oil recommendation: 1997 Lexus LS400 (1UFZE) 124k

The toyota dealer here has a machine that hooks up to the trans lines. It drains and fills simultaneously while the car is running. The machine is specifically designed not to flush or push containment out of the torque converter into the valve bodies or other areas of the tranny that could be...

What's with the super-high VI gear oils?

Mobil 1 75w-90 is only 142 VI. Does this mean it is of lower quality then the OP's list of gear oils? What should be the min VI for a good synthetic gear oil?

M1 Gear Oil not as good anymore?

Nice info... what do you run in the diffs in the Cruisers over there?

M1 Gear Oil not as good anymore?

I have the M1 in my Cruiser with ARB lockers and it seems to work well. The Delvac would be a good choice too for heavy duty work. But the M1 probably gives slightly better MPG's due to lower viscosity at 40/100C temps and a better VI. I imagine both will work great. My Toyota only specifies...

123k mile engine and 0w concerns

I assume you have the 4.7L V8. I have this same engine in my Cruiser. I have never heard of the engine burning oil. Are you consuming a quart with the 10w and the 0w or just the 0w? Have you looked at your valve cover gaskets lately? These tend to start leaking around 120k miles and might be a...

1991 Toyota Land Cruiser 3FE oil reccomendation

This is a 1FZ-F engine. Inline-6 and pretty much a tank. Use a heavy oil xw-40. I used a M1 High Mileage 10w-40 when I had a 97 LC. The valve guides in these are designed to burn a little oil.

    4 M1 Oils viscosities compared - 0W&5W-20&30

One factor that may come into play with the AFE 0w-30 is the recently added ACEA A5 spec. Not sure what had to be done to make this a long drain oil, but it now meets ACEA A1 and A5, whereas it only met ACEA A1 previously. Also, it can not shear too much or the A5 would not have been accepted.

When to actually start using high milage oil.

This is seems like a logical response to me. Did you ask about seal swellers for all those who like to throw that term around on here? Also any reason why the engineer recommended staying on a HM oil after regular use? It would be nice to have a Mobil engineer also provide a response to your...

When to actually start using high milage oil.

There is no proof from anyone I can find on this site that HM oils swell the seals. I think someone has started an urban myth. The additive in M1 HM oils only conditions the seals in cars to keep them pliable. When should you use a HM oil? When the rubber and seals gaskets around the engine...

Switch to Mobil 1 HM from QSUD?

I doubt the HM oil will fix your leak but you might give it a shot and see what happens. The only way to fix an oil leak is to usually just replace the seal or gasket. M1 High mileage oils help to condition (not swell) seals and therefore help extend the life of those seals.
