I guess that brings a good question...If a new car owner were to choose a short OCI in hopes of removing manufacturing/breakin particulate, is it more important to change the oil or the filter? I choose to do both.

I know that we're talking about nearly $50 here but personally I would drain it.

Again I think this is personal preference. If you search oil anaysis on both of these oils you will find similar additives. Both PU and HM have tons of Boron. HM may give the added benefit of seal conditioners for high mileage engine. IMO unless you want to take advantage of price breaks for...

Thanks guys for some great posts. Here is what I did: First of all the PCV wouldn't budge and I didnt force the issue. Work with it a little later. Changed the oil with New Formula (40%) PYB and Wix oil filter.

Did a few searches found a Purolator cross reference L22500, 2.98 x 4.08 in, M22 x 1.5 threads, relief valve and anti drainback valve.

2007 Yukon 5.3 44500mi Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 AC Delco PF48 filter

I use it in a 2002 4.3 GMC Sierra and a 2003 4.3 Sierra. 5w30 in both.
