    BMW Diesels

I am content with PP Euro L. Right now it is still available cheaply, if that remains static I am happy. If LL-04 remains relevant that is also helpful. TBH, I wonder if I could run the Euro L in my other vehicles (GTI?). The new GTI requires with VW 508 (which is lower SAPs I think?) and a very...

BMW F31/F30 328d xDrive Differential Oil

Tried finding clear answers to this with site:bobistheoilguy.com or f30.bimmerpost.com . In any case my BMW has xDrive with an open front and rear differential and a transfer case in between. For the sake of this discussion I am only interested in the rear and front differential. Using RealOEM...

    BMW Diesels

In general interested in LL-04 and LL-12 FE for a BMW 328d F31. It seems that LL-04 is disappearing, with the Mobil 1 oil selector giving me 0 products that 'officially' would work. In the meantime the 5QT jug of Pennzoil Euro 5w30 L from Walmart is the best deal out there, if not the only...

    Porsche A40 spec?

I was going to post my own thread but I can piggy back off this. I need A40 as well. Is it crazy to go with the 5w50 over 0w40? There is a sale right now that I kind of want to take advantage of. This car is new to me and was dealer serviced before. The manual states 5w50 for temperatures above...

    What actually affects oil temperature?

My WRX has an oil temperature readout. I usually keep this up so I know when I can safely get into boost at temp. I recently switched from the seemingly excellent Pennzoil Ultra to Redline 5w30. Just some experimentation, possible track day soon. I have noticed a decent drop in oil temperature...

2015 WRX Stage 2... oil recommendations?

Same boat here. I am just going to aim for anything Porsche A40. So a lot of the European oils recommended here. Having said that, Motul or Redline would be great choices that technically do not carry that spec, but are high performers.

Subaru Oil Pump Specs as Relates to Filter Bypass

Fred Beans Parts has Tokyo Roki for all Subarus with the proper pressure setting (they use Mazda OEMs). I've been using those and Blue Subaru filters for a while. The Tokyo Roki has more filter area, so I extend my OCIs to 5000k and not the 3750 they recommend. 04+ STi : PKN3R1AA000 2002+ WRX...

    NEW Amsoil 0W-40

Hm at $8.15 , not crazy expensive. That Mobil 1 0w40 deal just drives other potential competitors out of the market. Still might be something interesting to try a few months from now when my 10k OCI is up

    Land Rover spec. STJLR.51.5122/WSS-M12R536-A

If you want to use your own oil, I'd use a stout 0w20 or xw30. It is going to provide protection ... Very strange to see a v6 call for 0w30, what a world. Motul, Redline, Castrol ..

    Does anyone else hate leather?

Seating engineers typically rate leather as an ergonomically inferior material. Your skin sticks ... etc. More luxury cars need a high end fabric option.
