    why isn't Amazon.com a corporate sponsor?

Has anyone from BITOG approached them? Talk about a perfect match with 16,000 BITOG members - Amazon's automotive section has oils, syn oils, filters, additives, tools, etc. A fellow BITOGer's comment directed me to Amazon because of the price for a Purolator PureONE oil filter - $4.84, and NO...

    Toyota Matrix v. Pontiac Vibe

Thoughts from Oklahoma City auto-show this past weekend. The Matrix and Vibe are supposedly vehicle twins. But, considering a number of purchasing reasons below, why would anyone buy GM's Vibe? o The base Matrix retails for over a $1000 less. o The Matrix gets a "much better than average"...

    Amsoil Filters - changing recommendations?

Interesting...Do any of the Amsoil elites know why Amsoil now recommends a Hastings LF565 instead of their prior recommended SDF20 for the Hyundai/Kia 3.5L V6? I also noted that Amsoil's web site did not show stocking the LF565 as of Monday. I sent the Amsoil techies an email on this a couple of...

    Lube Control with PAO Synthetics

It is believed by some on here that the PAO's (i.e., Amsoil 10W-30) generate significantly less engine sludge/varnish, even over an extended OCI. If true, why not use a reduced amount of LC in the crankcase? For example, I think the indicated mix in a 4+ qt. engine is approx. 4 oz. LC at the...

Using additives goes against manufacturer's recommendations!

I think the manufacturers state don't use any additive EXCEPT "our (approved) additives." (e.g., GM has limited use additives). Mmmm, you could also go strictly by the manufacturer's sticker in the door which indicates what air pressure you should use in your Ford Explorer with its Firestone...
