Whats the best syntetic 2 stoke oil?

I've run whatever the current version of Echo was at the time in some things for over 30 years and never had a problem. I started running Amsoil Saber in a string trimmer a couple of years ago and it's worked great so far, too.

Oil Filter on Husky LT42 w/ Kohler 17 HP Courage

The stock filter is a Kohler 12 050 01-S1. The Wix cross reference is a 51056 for that filter. I've read where some replacement filters will not screw on due to differences in housing size. Just checking to see if anyone has run the Wix on this particular application to make sure it fits before...

    Motorcraft Syn Blend 5w-20

I'm 99% sure I know the answer to this before I ask but I want to be sure. And, I apologize for asking such a simple question. I am currently running Kendall GT-1 5w-20 Syn Blend and love it. I now have to go 35 miles out of my way to get the Kendall. I can get Motorcraft all over the place...

    Cenpeco 5w-20 semi-synthetic

I used to run 15w-40 Cenpeco in my 5.9 Cummins diesel and loved it. UOA's were excellent. I don't have the diesel anymore but I am interested in running 5w-20 and 5w-30 semi-synthetic in my current vehicles. Does anyone know if Cenpeco is API certified in these grades? I've checked thier site...

    1996 Dodge 1500 V8

Thanks for all of the input. The truck is the 5.2 318. I would have preferred the 360 but the guy I bought it from is a preacher and was hard up for cash. I got it for $500 so I couldn't complain about the engine. It's a regular cab 2WD automatic. It's not the most powerful thing in the world...

    1996 Dodge 1500 V8

Just bought a 96 Dodge 1500 from a guy. The truck has 165,000 miles on it but runs pretty well. The guy I bought it from hasn't owned the truck but a couple of years and hasn't put many miles on it since he bought it. He is just in a pinch for money and practically gave it to me. Unfortunately...

    CI-4 in New 6.7 Cummins

The emissions junk was removed with no regard for oil choice. It would have been removed either way. The overwhelming majority of people in this area immediately remove anything associated with emissions as soon as they buy the truck. There are a million programmers that will override the...

    CI-4 in New 6.7 Cummins

If you stripped all of the emissions junk off a new 6.7 Cummins would it hurt running CI4 oil rather that CJ4? I don't see why it would but wanted to throw it out to get some thoughts. By the way, the only reason it's being done is having some Amsoil 15w40 CI4 on hand.

    2000 Ford 7.3 - Rotella 15w40 - 7000 miles on oil

The guy hauls race horses all over the country and racks up miles fast. He averages close to 10,000 miles per month. In fact, he has already changed oil again since the last sample was sent in. I misspoke earlier when I said he had already switched to Schaeffer. He actually ran one more cycle of...

    2000 Ford 7.3 - Rotella 15w40 - 7000 miles on oil

To my knowledge no top off oil was used. When the guy drained the oil that this sample came from he switched to Schaeffer 15w40. It will be interesting to see how the numbers compare.

    2000 Ford 7.3 - Rotella 15w40 - 7000 miles on oil

We got a customer UOA back from Wix yesterday and everything looked great except for the iron level which was 55 ppm. This seems a little high to me but Wix said it was within spec and there was nothing to be concerned about. In looking at some of the other UOA's for the 7.3, it seems that they...

    Force For Earth?

Anyone ever heard of a fuel treatment called Force for Earth? Their site doesn't have a ton of info but it's supposed to be completely non-toxic and environmentally friendly synthetic esters. It is also registered with the EPA. Several truck pullers around here run it and claim they have noticed...

    Schaeffer 5w20

I've been investigating pretty much every 5w20 oil on the market for my new ride. Since I have used Schaeffer 5w40 diesel oil in the past with great success, I am curious about the 5w20. In searching this site I haven't been able to find much info. One UOA looks incredible while a couple of...

Motorcraft, 76, Kendall....all the same oil??

Brad Penn is similar to what Kendall used to be. Brad Penn is made in the same factory that Kendall was years ago. Today, however, there are no similarities in the two oils.

    2010 Dodge Nitro 3.7

Thanks for the info. You mentioned Kendall GT1. I ran Kendall years ago when it was still based in Bradford, PA and loved it. Obviously, it's now part of Conoco Phillips. They push the idea of liquid titanium. This seems like a gimmick to me but I have no information to support or refute that...

    2010 Dodge Nitro 3.7

Hey guys, I have been away from this board for 6 year or so and I am glad to be back. I recently traded my Dodge/Cummins in for a Dodge Nitro with the 3.7 as I needed a more family friendly ride. As most of you probably know it specs 5w20 oil. I plan on running PYB for the first change around 5...
