    I just hacksawed my old Toyota filter and the Purolator PureOne that I used for 600 miles with Auto-Rx in my '88 Supra. It looks to me like the Toyota filter is a Purolator Premium Plus.     Which is better - clean *or* dirty dipstick ?

    OneQuartLow : "You could replace it and there'd be no visible change." Conversely, if the dipstick oil is turning darker and only the filter is changed...and then the darkness disappears...does that mean that the old filter had reached it's limit ?

    I have read and searched but I haven't found a consensus opinion about this subject. Does a clean dipstick (after 1000 - 2000 miles) mean that the oil filter is doing a great job (and therefore a dirty dipstick means that the filter isn't doing it's job anymore) ? *OR* Does a dirty dipstick...

    When Did You Notice a Difference?

    I also added Auto-Rx for the first time to my Toyota on Saturday (1988 Toyota Supra with 88,000 miles). I also added Techron to the gas tank yesterday at +150 miles. I now have 300 miles on the Auto-Rx and 150 miles on the Techron. I agree with "dragboat" that doing both at the same time makes...
