    Diesel Extreme

I have great luck with Alliant Power ULTRAGUARD Diesel Fuel Treatment in all three of my diesels. It comes in bottles that are easy to store, open, and keep from spilling. If you have a Powerstroke with stiction issues, Archoil is your answer.

    Diesel: pump premium or additive?

I always run the premium/gold diesel product from Kwik Trip. It's 5 cents per gallon more, but I see less smoke in my modified LBZ Duramax. It's about the same in my other two diesels. All three vehicles still get a light treatment of Alliant Power Ultraguard in every tank.

What is your favorite gas station and why?

Kwik Trip. In my area (Jefferson, WI), the station sells premium diesel. It is the usual Kwik Trip formula. Clean, bright, and a fantastic convenience store. They even sell 91 octane, ethanol free gasoline that works great in my lawn mower and snow blower. When I go up to my cabin in northern...

Doe anyone run E-85 on a Regular basis?

e85 is 2.79 here. Premium is 3.99. With tuning, my truck makes about the same power with either fuel. I lose about 1.5/mpg with e85, but with the cost difference, it's worth it.

    E15 starting to appear.....

This was a fun thread to read... I also have a 2013 Silverado with the 5.3L. The station I fill up (Kwik Trip - Waukesha, WI) at has E85 at $2.84/gal. I paid $3.59 for E10 Top Tier 93 Octane the same day. I have a fantastic custom tune in my truck that gives great power and nice mpg so premium...

Honda Pilot vs Toyota 4Runner vs VS Toureg

I love the new 4Runner. I spent a lot of time in a 2011. I really, really love it. So many cool features and great capability. I can easily see myself replacing my Silverado with one. However, for someone looking for just an everyday SUV, it might be too much "truck". The Pilot is just a great...

    Favorite "ugliest" car?

FIAT 500L. It is amazing how it has grown on me. In a segment full of boring boxes, it's actually different. I drove one and loved it even more. I love it.

    GM 8.1...

Cool burnout! 8.1 vs 6.2... blah blah blah... That's why we have the Duramax. Discussion over. (The 2014 6.2L GM truck motor has some neat specs though! 420hp/460tq)

    rusted oil filters

I bought a microGreen filter for my wife's 2012 Civic Hybrid and it was BADLY rusted. They told me to store them in drier places to prevent rust... even though I had emailed them ONE DAY after I received it. Clearly they need to change their storage methods... or something in my house can rust...

    CA-40 results

They really advertise this stuff and just talk about it on XM channel 171 Open Road... The drivers who call in seem to really like it.

    6.0 vs 7.3 Powerstroke - Opinions please

Do not go with a 2003-2004 6.0L. Tons and tons of problems. The 2005-2007 ended up being pretty good. The 7.3L is a proven workhorse. Keep the oil system clean and you have an engine that will last forever.

Best compact-midsize diesel cars available in US?

Not so sure you are familiar with the diesels of today. In the past few years, I have owned Ford, GM, Dodge, and VW diesels. Fuel mileage is always BETTER than expected. Heck, my 435rwhp Duramax consistently got over 20mpg. I can't find any gasser that gets close. My fiance owns a 2006 VW TDi...

    Oil Advice for Corvette/Jeep?

Very true. As for the original poster.... I run Amsoil 5w30 in my 1997 Blazer and Amsoil 10w30 in my cammed 1998 Trans Am. Online ordering to my door is great and I have never had a problem. Their EaO Oil filters are AWESOME as well. A great 1 stop shop. I drive the Blazer 200 miles a day, 6...

    Oil Advice for Corvette/Jeep?

Great point! I guess the F-body LS1 just isn't as "classy" so it can use any oil.

Amsoil vs. Mobile One vs. Redline synthetic fluids

Amsoil. Great oils and with preferred pricing, it is pretty cheap. Not to mention, I don't have to drive around searching for what I need. I order online and it is here within 3 days.

    new cummins owner with questions

I would change oil at around 1,000 miles and then at 3000 miles again. Rotella T, Delo 400 and Delvac 1300 are all good. Just pick one and stick with it. The best oil filters would be the Amsoil EAo, Fleetguard stratapore, or the Napa Gold. The Fleetguard Venturi combo filters are by far the...

    2006 Heavy-Duty-Truck Comparison Test

The "cummins is king" crap is getting old. The new Cummins 5.9L is no longer immune to common engine problems. It has turbo, injector, and pump failures like just like any other. It no longer has the most power. It no longer has the best fuel mileage. It no longer has the most low end grunt. It...

    Stake-bed diesel pickups

http://www.gmc.com/commercialBridge.jsp - I believe that site has better info than the Chevy site. As far as trucks go, the Duramax/Allison combo will provide the best fuel mileage and power. The allison will hold up to a ton of abuse. The Fords are the best trucks, but they have the worst...
