What are you working on today?

My friend Art, owner of New Life Tree Company, called with a dead brush chipper. His crew was working 25 miles south in San Martin-Gilroy area. Ton of brush on the ground with a no start chipper... He told me a couple of guys tried fixing it when his back was turned. Oops. So he brings it over...

    Tesla Full Self Driving (FSD)

Well, driver error is the critical cause of approximately 94% of all vehicle accidents. Recognition Errors (~41%): Primarily distracted driving. Have another one, bud... Decision Errors (~33%): Poor choices, primarily speeding. Performance Errors (~11%): Losing control of the vehicle...

Why do people strongly opine about topics they know nothing about?

The SEMI C-Level execs depend on your word and your execution. It's OK to be wrong as long as you are being honest and keep them in the loop. Q: "How are you gonna do that?" I used to tell them, "That's my problem and I will let you know if I get in trouble." "OK; this meeting is over." And so...

EV and Hybrid - CAR - Front ends. Ugly.

Hopefully pics do not do that filthy expensive car justice. But I'd drive it, just the same.

Vehicle Sighting - 1970 Chev El Camino

Respectfully I don't agree. Great for low end. I ripped all that stuff outta my old Vette and went back to points.

Why do people strongly opine about topics they know nothing about?

In my career, I HAD to say, "I don't know." if I didn't know, because I was held to what I said. Seriously held... And rewarded for results. It was OK to say it but I followed it with, "but I can find out." It is far better to say, "I don't know." than to be caught lying.

Gotta love those quarterly checks... Of course the taxman takes his cut, so there's that. What's a poor boy to do?

    Tesla Full Self Driving (FSD)

Glad to see so many somehow know all the facts. But here's Tesla's instruction on AP use: The driver remains in control and legally responsible. The haters love the clickbait articles...

You're right; I stand corrected. Google sez that made the PG until 1973. Wow!

Honda posts first loss ever after EV pullback

Honda, to a large degree, seems to have lost their way, I'm sorry to say. The new Prelude is .... not so overwhelming.

Vehicle Sighting - 1970 Chev El Camino

'67 was the last year of the 2 speed Powerglide. It is probably a TH350 which is a great trans. Of course it may be the great 200 4R. '70 was the last year of decent compression before the smoggers. I prefer the 64-67 cars, but that's just me. The '68 with the small taillights was the best of...

BMW EV China sales; not good

BYD is the big dog, and they offer far more vehicle types for entry level purchases up. They are a powerhouse, for sure.

BMW EV China sales; not good

Tesla China sales have struggled in 2026. The China market is down overall. But May is seeing a rebound. The difference is, BMW has pulled out. Tesla China May sales rebound. The YL has been seen running around the Fremont test track. Perhaps we will see it for sale here in the US soon? Tesla...

    EVs on Long Road Trips

I took no offense. I do my very best to post respectfully. I point out misconceptions, based on my experience. I generally highlight the point I am referring to.

    EVs on Long Road Trips

I never said they were better. I am saying there are misconceptions. I clearly state the pluses and minuses of EVs. You say you understand how they work, but your posts say otherwise. Apologies if I sounded condescending; that is never my intention. And my name is not Dude. And I never called...

BMW EV China sales; not good

Here's the latest GCBC article on BMW's foray into the electric car market. IMO, car companies that stuffed a battery and motor into an existing platform (as in BMW CLAR) mis-underestimated the task. The Big Boys messed up. Get the Neue Klasse to market!
