    Valvoline XLD 15w40, 5800km, '88 Mitsubishi ZR4

That's really interesting info re SL because the previous range of Penrite that was SL had 1100ppm zinc and 2800ppm cal. There HPR5 which is a 5w40 would be the nearest in comparison.

Elf Excellium 5w-40 - What base stock is used?

The local Renault dealer here sells it and markets it as a high grade expensive oil. The TDS also suggests that it's something of a high performance oil and I guess because ELF is seen as a more exclusive product it adds to the view it's not just a standard product. I was considering trying it...

    Penrite HPR now full synthetic

They have in my view always made very strong reliable oils. I know the debate rages on about weight as Penrite prefer a plus ten on manufacture spec but in any weight you choose they just seen to be good oils. Still over 1100 ppm zinc and heaps of calcium in every varity.

    Australian range of Valvoline products

I know this is a debated comment but regardless of that in general engineering, mechanical and enthusiast circles it's often regarded that the factory spec light weight oils are for EPA compliance and fuel Consumption standards. Even the dealers tend go go one grade heavier in most examples...

    Australian range of Valvoline products

I personally wasn't a big fan of Nulon either, but I thought it was just me as they seem to of really taken a huge cut of the market in the enthusiast area. One thing that I have noticed looking back at SJ and SL era TDS's is that the Phos level of all Valvoline products are lower than most of...

Hello all. I'm sorry if this has been asked or done before. I'm back to the site after several years. Being located in Australia and having most of the big brands doing different blends to the USA offerings I thought it would be great to have a section where people could submit any VOA for oils...
