Electric bicycle rules on walking path

I reluctantly break my self-imposed exile to respond to this: Maybe some of us don't aspire to be a "cyclist" as you define it. Some have different needs and methods of getting from point a to point b. Yes, people actually live their lives differently than you do. Get over it. I'm surprised...

Is BITOG just a version of social media or is it something else?

BITOG is right-of-center social media. Note the absence of uncomfortable topics like Scott Adams. Now, lets see how quickly this post gets squelched...

    Changing spark plugs

It's easy, except for transverse (sidewinder) V6 engines and a few smallish V8 cars from the 70s.

I'm curious how this compares/relates to their HiTrac model.

Interesting Motor Trend article about EVs

I think if all you did with the vehicle ws a 4 mile daily commute to work you wouldn't need fast charging. Besides, repeated short trips are hard on an ICE engine, but not electric. I went a similar distance to work on a e-bikes for 25 years (retired in April). The current bike has a 40 mile...

    Counterfeit Oil Filters, ebay

Just saw a post on a Hyundai forum where someone bought a $130 cat converter on ebay and now they have P0430 code. Who woulda thunk it?

I guess tires do harden with age

I wonder what the 8 y.o. Michelin XZX tires on my 1975 Civic would have read on that gauge. They had ~80,000 miles and plenty of tread left. I made a panic stop when a truck ran a stop sign. No collision, but my little go-cart of a car swapped ends in the blink of an eye. That's the day I...

Plastic Gas Can: Seal or Vent?

    Are these spark plugs shot?

MMO isn't very aggressive. As above, B12 or perhaps Seafoam would be more effective. I'd put ~50ml in each one. Then add a bit more and wiggle the crank back and forth each hour for 4 hours or more. Cranking with the plugs out will spit out enough to avoid hydro-lock. Then change the oil.

    Are these spark plugs shot?

I would try a piston soak.

Do direct injection engines almost require fuel system cleaners?

There is, but not without issues: https://www.scannerdanner.com/forum/diagnostic-tools-and-techniques/3237-crc-gdi-valve-cleaner-trial-before-and-after-never-again.html

Do direct injection engines almost require fuel system cleaners?

There is some reversion of exhaust gases (and crud) into the intake at the beginning of the intake stroke. Many engine with variable valve timing use this effect for EGR. Some speculate deposits come from PCV fumes, but one study disabled PCV and there were still intake valve deposits (slightly...

    Odd wear polished edges

Dunning–Kruger effect FTW. Bonus question: were there ever any passenger car tires with a max pressure of 32 psi?

    Odd wear polished edges

Ah, you need to know you're arguing with an actual tire engineer, who's too polite to point out you're on a fool's errand.

Address & Telephone numbers back in 1960

The 2 letters could also stand for a neighborhood, like my childhood number AD-2 xxxx, AD for the Adams Morgan neighborhood in Wash. DC. Larger cities would need several exchange buildings back in the bays of mechanical relay switching. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_exchange_names

Quick connect for Trickle battery charger

FYI, I used the adapter I linked above for a portable battery charger. It has thicker wires than the Battery Tender unit and handles higher current (I'm running up to 6A).
