Calcium sulfonate complex for water resistance. Check the water washout #'s for a good calcium soap grease vs anything else. And FWIW some of the best chassis greases at very good prices are marketed by CAT and fortified with 5% MoS2. Their severe service greases are all Ca soap bases.

The engine came fitted from the factory with it. Mann-Hummel rotor (centrifugal) filter.

I ran Motul Gear 300 (non LS) in an Ashcroft ATB (Ascroft Transmissions torque biasing centre, their version of a Torsen T2 or Quaife ATB) in a centre diff as it's an MTF/transaxle fluid. It worked very well.

Once upon a time Neo 75W-90 RHD. These days, Lubrication Engineers 9919. LE make exceptional gear lubes.

A couple of blokes that had Defenders on the Oz Land Rover forum have upgraded to Iveco's for outback touring and mostly love them, although apparently they are chronically underbraked. An upgrade kit was developed here to mitigate that issue.

For a ZF 4HP22EH transmission ? Castrol Transmax Z has been my go to syn ATF for a very long time. Is it still the standard for Dex IIIH type fluids ? or are there more modern formulations that surpass it now ?
