    Turbo Tax

I’m a long time TurboTax user. Two years ago I had some things come down the pike & had a more unusual tax situation, yes divorce was part of it. With TurboTax I had a huge tax bill that I owed. I decided to go to a reputable tax prepared in town, 5 star reviews. They came out within $100s of my...

Don’t use peanut butter on your glue mouse trap warning?

I have an ongoing trapping program in my shed, 4 traps. I just caught a mouse yesterday, after a month+ hiatus. I ramped it up a year ago when I started seeing them while getting stuff out.

My 5 YO GE 2 sided Ref make a barking noise every once in a while

My fridge makes strange noise after running, but it’s working fine, 30 years old. I plan to run it to failure.

Replaced Spark Plugs Today 2007 Honda Fit; Pics

Yeah, to many years they can get almost frozen in place. For most vehicles, near 75-80k is time for me, years factor in also.

Jury Awards $220 Million Against Michelin After Deadly Ford SUV Tire Blowout

Sorry didn’t read everything. Did the owner ever inspect their own tires then think about replacing? Did they have 70k miles? I think I could take most any tire and run it to failure. OBTW, years ago I ran some Wilderness AT tires, no problems.

    S&W 432UC, 632UC 32 J frame H&R Magnum

I went on a 32 cal kick a year or so ago, bought 2. The first was a Taurus 327 on discount at Palmetto State, a little heavier than the UC. The next at nearly the same time was the S&W UC, 32 H&R mag. Since I’m a reloader, I set up for both. To me, full power 327 loads(in the Taurus) are a...

    Suppressor Help

Informative thread, to those inclined. I just got in line with the dropping of the $200 tax stamp, no that wasn’t the pivotal reason for ordering. I’ve been on the fence for years. I’ve been around them some with others, never owned myself. I ordered a Nosler lightweight ‘can’ in 30 cal. My...

    Windshield Repair Kit Tips?

I did one yesterday, went well, but kinda cool in the garage, 40+ a little. I’ll check today, maybe use a hair dryer. Mine is low and between the driver & passenger, a slight smudge is livable. I didn’t want the chip to spread.

    2022 Honda civic spark plugs

I was looking for plugs a while back, somewhat older Chevy truck. When I cross-referenced plugs, newer & better options came up. What I’m getting it, not sure it’s always best to blindly go with original, OEM plugs. Not that they would be a wrong or bad choice, I just like to check options first.

    Lennox Pulse Gas Furnace Issue

I have a Lennox Pulse, 1996 vintage, still going strong. I’ve had maintenance periodically over the years, often use the wood stove to supplement. Most things have been relatively minor, trying to keep it running as able.

Live In Central Texas, but Travel Often to Wisconsin. Now Considering Dedicated Winter Tires.

Especially with AWD and then only a lower need for winter driving, I’d get better quality all season. I didn’t read everything, but I’m sure the ‘cross climate’ have been mentioned a bunch. What goes hand & hand with good tires is careful driving. That applies to any adverse conditions on...

"Old" production date tires worth the discount?

I got a good deal on fleabay, 2 truck tires, $205 shipped one money. There are almost new with any tread wear, but kinda old. They spent their life as spares, under the bed, witness marks. They will be used until worn out.

Your advice on what vehicle to purchase to achieve the lowest cost of ownership?

I just bought a car that may be close to your requirements. My daily driver has been a 2017 Silverado crew-cab, 185k miles, doing great. I wanted to take some pressure off the pickup, need one but don’t feel like buying a replacement now. I’ve been doing some casual looking for a few months...

    Changed my Spark plugs today

Think of all the owners that skip much of routiine maintenance, until they have a problem. That could be filter changes, transmission, differential, coolant fluid, or spark plugs. Most of the anti seize discussion is inconsequential in comparison, just saying.

    Philips Victory/Philips Anti-Rust/Camguard/etc

I think it’s always best to fly the aircraft regularly, like inside every 14 days. I use a little Camguard myself, but don’t like an engine sitting & not running.
