I have found a easy way to take a oil sample if you already have the Fram "sure drain". Just remove the hose when getting ready to change oil than use the brass actuator as the control valve for controling the release of the oil into the sample bottle. This may have already been suggested here...

no it's not at Wal-mart but I have gotten it at NAPA and seen it at Autozone,Shuck's, and so other auto parts stores. Wish Wal-mart would carry it in the 5qt bottles all the other Mobil1 they sell comes in.

a few months ago it was Castrol 0-30 syn. oil coming from Germany which was abbreveated down too GC, well I was at a car parts store today and now they have Castrol 5-40 "made in Belgeim" so I guess it would be know as BC. Their big claim is that it meets VW TDI & Mercedes requierments.

was at Autozone today and the German made Castrol Syntec 0/30 is now made in the U.S. and did not have the green look to it. Looks like the 'real' stuff is gone or it's on the way out, so too all of the one's who were buying it you better get on down to Autozone and maybe get whatever is left in...
