    New HVAC and dimming lights

The Trane probably had the factory start assist capacitor on it. Most of the older Trane /American Standard condensers had a start assist capacitor from the factory. I don't think I have ever seen a Goodman with one from the factory. You could get a 5-2-1 start kit and put in on there.

    HVAC Problems

Sounds like its low on refrigerant but it could be other issues too. I would suggest washing the coil on the outdoor unit because if its plugged with dirt you will lose capacity. Take your garden hose and wash it out.

Anyone use out door surge suppressor for HVAC unit?

On the newer units that are inverter driven compressors its a must have. Bosch actually requires them to be installed with their heat pumps. We use the intermatic ones.

    Ford Transit 3.7

The ones with the 3.7 seem to be the best. My buddys shop maintains a fleet of them and he has sent me pictures of some of the ones that come through the shop with over 600k on the factory engines.

Doing anything to prepare for the heatwave?

Nothing special here. If you have central air I recommend washing out the fins on your outdoor unit with a garden hose. I can't tell you how many I see I on a weekly basis that are plugged solid with dust and dirt. Not only does it cause it to work harder but also causes it to lose capacity.

Body shop owner telling me this is rust popping up a year after he repaired the car.

These types of repairs always rust from the inside out. The paint bubbling is from the rust underneath. The only way to prevent this is by getting at the back side of it and coating it with something like fluid film or cavity wax.

Anything holistically accurate or likely in this doom and gloom economic prediction.

Fracking and cheap natural gas killed coal.

    Counterfeit Tool Batteries

There was a guy that worked at one of the amazon warehouses that said that 75 percent of the name brand auto parts they were shipping were counterfeit. Amazon knew about the issue too. Might have been this forum he posted on but I can't remember now. But if 75 percent of the auto parts were...

R22 systems? Keep them running or what?

Sure there will be companies that still have the stuff in stock but once it runs out that's it.

R22 systems? Keep them running or what?

I have mixed feeling on the situation and I'm an hvac tech. Next year everyone is switching refrigerants again. Most are going to R454B but Daikin, Goodman(Amana), Mitsubishi are going to R32. Being that R454B and R32 are A2L mildly flammable systems will now have leak sensors that kick the...

3rd Heater Core Plugged In 6 Months...

It must be pretty bad if you can't back flush it. Being these new coolants have no silicates in them the only thing I could think that would plug a heater core is casting sand left in the block. If it was my truck I would install a coolant filter and see what it catches. You really shouldn't...

Why Do Enthusiasts Hate Walmart Products?

Thats your group on facebook? That's cool! I joined it awhile back. Some cool stuff posted on there for sure. Let me just say as someone that is a member of many automotive groups on facebook the amount of bad information in regards to oil and filters is nuts. Its not just your group its pretty...
