ok, did it again. Redline oil could not pass up!

Now it is soooooo easy to get Redline at the local Advance Auto. ANd my friend who works there sold me 5 qts at $6.00 instead of the $7.68 ? anyway. all they had at that time was 5w30 and 20w50. So, I went with the 5w30. This is no **** guys. I have never had this much of a fuel milage...

Now if I were to leave it in for 30,000 then we could do it...but you know me, cant get past 2,500 on oil. But with the price of the oil Im using its really not big deal. When...

what i discovered with wix oil filters

Speaking of wix. I was in the Napa store today. They have a whole display of new oil filters. The guy said it was a cross between the silver and Gold filter at $3.00. It has some new tech, some spiral flow. shows how regular filters flow down the sides then back. this one the oil cirulates...

There is something in my coolant!

why blame the dexcool? sounds to me that the car was doing fine before he dumped the coolent and flushed and put the green stuff back in. I took the green coolent out of my 97 Pathfinder as soon as I bought it, flushed it and put Dexcool 60/40 mix. I flush once a year. NO problems whatsoever...

And I thought DexCool extends waterpump life

"or the way stories about Pennzoil sludging up engines continues to dog them." I think you meant Quakerstate!! I would use Extra Virgin olive oil before I used that junk. Worst oil ever made, over the counter that is.

How easy is changing the rear diff fluid? MT fluid?

"Where do you find those wrenches for those "square" bolts? They are female bolts. I don't have the right wrenches for the task. " I use the socet side of a 2 inch socket wrench. Somtimes you need a little force like a pipe and use your foot to push on it to get a little more force. Last time I...

Rate the SuperTech oil and filters

The ST filters are fine. The Oil is rebottled Quaker state... I wouldn't use it.

Mobil 1 does contain Group III

"as a lot of others have said, as long as the oil is working I don't see a problem either way. A lot of people here are using GC with good results and all we have is speculation about it's makeup." THIS IS FUNNIER THEN **** .. EVERYONE BUSTED SYNTEC OH NO, NOT A GOOD OIL, NOT A REAL SYNTHETIC...

Well, PIcked up my spring oil

Ok guys. God, I hop it warms up a bit. I hear it is going into the 70's in Michigan in a week or so. I went to walmart, they had Delvac 1300 in a nice new pretty bottle for $5.86 I believe. I picked up two gallons. **** what a deal. You know the best part I love about this oil.. A TBN OF 12...

    What people are asking for.

I went to walmart today, the back way, through the auto section, much eaiser. anyway I ask the techs there what bottle oil is most requested. He said Castrol GTX and Valvoline. They run Pennzoil thru the lines. we got to talking about the board and stuff, and I asked about Quakerstate. Get this...

STP air filter observations and comments

I too use the STP Air filter. A good hard outer shell. And a lot of pleats. Out of the Fram, PUralator and STP that I normaly can choose from, I would take the STP. WHo would have thunk it? Well, after talking about Transmissions and not to concentrate just on engines, Now, I have to go get...

And I thought DexCool extends waterpump life

Don't listen to all that bull **** . You know what they say about opinions... and you can take mine if you want. I bought a 97 NIssan Pathinder with 50,000 miles on it. Had the green stuff in it. I went throught the whole truck changing everything from diff's, ATF, oil and antifreez. It had...

New pump and still powers steering noise

I know people are going to yell, but I would start with Maxlife steering fluid. Or Valvoline Synpower fluid. Then add Lucas Rack and Pinion leak stopper. You don't have to have a leak. Like all their products they make great preventive products.

    Average Engine Life

I have found with other people and one of my vehicles, its usually the Transmission that needs the overhaul or a rebuilt one before anything else. I think people should pay more attention to that also. I change my Trans fluid every 10,000 miles sometimes less. I use either Castrol Dex, or Pennz...

A research poll concerning the movie 'The Passion of the Christ.'

Well anyway. I am glad this movie was put out instead of the rest of the other garbage. I think Starskey and Hutch is a good rent a movie. at least this movie remindes people of what a person Jesus was. And when you think you have trouble or pain, just turn back and remember what he went...

Will Rotella T Synthetic 5w-40 kill my CAT?

I have a Pathfinder 97, with 135,000 and no CAT trouble. And if there was. You would never see me putting a CAT back on that truck. Streight pipe all the way. Aready got rid of the resinator during the last exhaust pipe repairs. That Cat don't do **** but help those at the EPA and lose gas milage.

    Schaeffer's 10w30

I buy mine at a Carquest dealer in Benton Harbor Mi. Couldn't believe when I walked in and saw a three rolls, of Amsoil, Royal Purple and Shaeffers oil. I just bought the 15w40 for my spring change. I was going to use the walmart filter, but I just couldn't do it. Bought a K&N Filter at...

Why don't more manufactures recommend synthetics?

It would seem to me that if synthetics really prolonged vehicle life that much, it would cut into some big money on those vipers, corvettes etc. Change your fluids, take care of your car. And it doesnt matter what you use. **** , my uncle ran a chevy malibu to 250,000 on Valvoline. Go figure...
