Somebody dumb down ATF+4 for me please

I'm trying to figure out why a manual transmission calls for Mopar ATF+4 with 4 oz of Mopar friction modifier? There have been some people using 75w-90 gear oils and other variations but wanted to know how "thin" ATF+4 actually is, compared to the others. Again, why in the world is an ATF called...

    2.4L 4-cyl Turbo Dodge

Guys, I'm looking to maximize the cooling efficiency of my car. It's a 2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4, which has a water cooled turbo from the factory. I have installed a 180* t-stat (stock is 195*) and when the ambient temps are high here, my coolant temps hover around 195-200*, even when moving on the...

    OW-30 OK for my Armada

Hey guys, What is everyones opinion on using a 0W-30 Syn on my 2005 Nissan Armada? (It now has 8,500 miles with conventional.) The manual calls for 5W-30, but I was thinking of switching to Amsoil Series 2K. Would this oil be okay for the hot environment I am in? (Las Vegas, NV) Thanks for...

    MPG increase w/synthetic?

Hey everyone. I'm trying to figure out if I will get a MPG increase if I switch my rear diff. fluid to synthetic? The weight would be the same, which is 80W-90 in this case. This is for my '05 Nissan Armada. I was thinking about going to Amsoil 80W-90. Thanks!

    Installing turbo kit...found interesting instructions

Hey everyone. I thought I would share the concern I am having with the turbo I am installing in my 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally. The kit uses a Garrett T-28 journal bearing turbo and the instructions with the kit specify a 20W-50 oil and not to be synthetic. The factory oil recommendation for...

    Motor using oil

Hello all! I have a 2002 Acura RSX Type S, which currently has a little over 18,000 miles on it. From day one, it has been using oil. After about 1,000 miles, it is down about 1/4 to 1/2 quart. I use what is called for:5W-30. I took it to the dealer and the limit before they do any warranty work...
