    P1 metal end cap un-glued

Not my technique of cutting it open. I've cut open a lot of filters... Yes the leaf spring kept it all together. But the glue was dark color and getting brittle. Not cool for an $11 filter to do that. a $7 AC Delco doesn't do that from what I've seen. And for my application of the SB Chevy's...

    P1 metal end cap un-glued

I've always been a big P1 fan since the late 90's. For the past 6yrs I've been running around in the BMW circles, with cartridge filters. Got out of the cars and now am into a '14 Silverado (my line of work was the reason I switched to a truck). With 7,604 miles and only a few months, I drive A...

    BMW MTF-LT-3 in MTF-LT-2 Application

^ Thanks for the heads up. That's much cheaper than buying a 5L jug of BMW fluid when it's probably the same stuff. This way I can just buy 2 or 3 bottles of the Pent for $21/ea. $60 vs $150. I'm going that route. Car is 10yrs old with 102k. Granted I'm the 2nd owner, accident free and it's my...

Can i use Pentosin CHF 11s on a mitsubishi eclipse

I know you CANNOT mix the ATF & CHF 11S. Napa is the best price for me locally $20/Liter. Or go online. I would not run the CHF 11S unless you completely flush the ATF out. I'm actually looking at doing this on my older BMW. But am not sure yet with seal compatibility or other issues that may...

    BMW MTF-LT-3 in MTF-LT-2 Application

^ Agreed. Figured I'd ask if a ton of BMW guys were doing the LT-3 where Lt-2 was called for and I just missed the boat. Guess not. I am using LT-3 BMW fluid in my 335i and I'll bite the bullet and order a jug of LT-2 BMW fluid for my 5psd 530i.

Switching from ATF to CHF 11S in BMW P/S

^ Nissan/Infiniti are using it along with GM. Dex VI factory fill p/s fill. I agree that maybe going the CHF 11S is a bit over the top with so many questions of seal compatibility and cost alone... $20/liter @ Napa. $26/liter @ BMW. Same bottle. M1 ATF is $10/qt. I can get Castrol or Valvoline...

    BMW MTF-LT-3 in MTF-LT-2 Application

Again, my older 5spd manual 530i calls for MTF-LT-2 fluid which according to Redline's chart is a D4 ATF Aka Dex III visc. My newer 335i 6spd manual calls for MTF-LT-3, which according to redline take a D6 ATF Aka Dex VI visc. I use OEM BMW trans fluids. Possible to use the newer thinner LT-3...

Switching from ATF to CHF 11S in BMW P/S

Yes, switch from the cheap ATF fluid to the expensive CHF 11S. I have a newer 335i that specs CHF 11s and a daily driver '03 530i that specs "ATF"; aka Dex III. I'm well aware of the Dex VI being newer, and mainly thinner. And some manufactures going to it for p/s fluid. However, I'd like to...

Ordered it on Amazon. No tax, free shipping, didn't even have to leave the house and we had a $5 acct credit for some reason. Can't beat it. I'm going to run it in my two BMW's and the wife's C300. Vs me having to run M-F to the BMW dealer 1hr away and buying her M1 for $8.99 at the parts...

Where to buy Castrol Edge 0w-30!!!???

The amazon route seems promising. I don't even have to drive in traffic for 1hr to the dealer or Pepboys etc. And it's tax free and for that amount should ship free. So it's cheaper than even dealership oil. I do have a Pepboys around, have not tried them. I will call them tomorrow. Like I...

    Mobil1 0W-40 vs German Castrol 0-30 for '02 BMW325

Guys, I have a two BMW's (M54 E39 & N54 E90) and the wife has a late model C300. Here is where I'm at with this. I've been trying to stock ONE type of oil for all 3 cars to make life easy. 1- The BMW dealership 5w-30 oil is Castrol Softec from overseas. Good oil, no arguments about it. It's a...

    2008 Lincoln MKZ 3.5L V6 Intervals

Yes, I'm also surprised the car does not have a OLM, trust me... it doesn't. The 10k w/M1 also saves me some labor and time on Saturdays. I think that's what I'm going to settle on... 10k w/M1 0w-20 & MC Filter. Wanted to check and see if this engine had a bad history on oil first. And yes it's...

    2008 Lincoln MKZ 3.5L V6 Intervals

Hey guys, I have a '08 V6 MKZ with about 55k miles. Does anyone know if the 3.5L V6 Ford engine is tough on oil? Factory interval is 7,500 miles. Cars has no oil life meter of any kind. Currently I'm using a Motorcraft oil filter and either the Motorcraft syn blend 5w-20 or M1 0w-20 Fuel Econo...

Recommendations closest to Castrol SAF-XO 75w-90?

Going thru this right now on my 335i. BMW forum member pulled it out of the TIS dealer systema nd it is XO (75/90) for open diffs and 75/140 XJ for LSD diffs which are in M3's mainly. I have an '07 335i open diff, so I'm going to run the 75-90 XO. Spec sheet compare to M1's 75-90 looks better...

    '07 BMW 335i Diff Oil, 90wt vs 140wt

10-4 guys. I didn't realize the diff was so small.. and forgot it was IRS. My Tacomas had a lot of power, towed 6,500 #'s and only ran 75-90 fine. But this is a different animal I guess. 300HP, performance car with a "small" diff that does not have axle tubes to hold a lot of lube.

    '07 BMW 335i Diff Oil, 90wt vs 140wt

Ok, looks like the factory fill in my '07 335i is 75w-140 Castrol XJ or whatever. Some european synthetic. Car has 39k and the original fluid. Needs changed out. I'm on the fence weather to go with: A- OEM Castrol 75-140 syn fluid. Gotta buy it from the dealer and bring my own jug. Have no idea...
