1993 5.7 TBI Chevy 2500 a little over 202K miles. Looking at the temperature gauge it seems like there is probably a 160 degree T-stat installed. Looking at the stock specs it calls for a 195 as OEM. What are the possible advantages or disadvantages of each?

Yes -- B3500 with an unusual build, it has 5/8" lug studs.

Took the ten year old Primewell Valeras off and put a new set of Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse HT tires on the 1996 Dodge today. Took very little weight to balance and that van feels more stuck to the road, more predictably responsive, and far more stable on the highway. Didn't see any reviews...

This vehicle doesn't have a tach so it's all a guess until I get used to this new-to-me feature. Is it best to engage this switch (turn OD off) if it feels a little sluggish under load, or going uphill, or when a little more engine braking is needed going downhill?

It turns out the wheels that are on this 1996 Dodge B3500 are not the right ones -- the center hole was just slightly too small and now deformed enough such that balancing is difficult, and the counterbore for the conical lug nuts doesn't match the nuts so there isn't much bearing surface...

Replaced the previously installed STP filter with NAPA Gold filter and used the NAPA store brand 10w-30 oil. A little surprising how much the oil pressure gauge went up. Thanks to all who responded.

Yes, came with the tires already installed, wondering if it would be best to replace them. Just under 7/32" tread, sidewalls look good. Never heard of this brand before, but if they are a reasonably good tire I will probably wear them out and then replace them. Thanks all.
