I was referred to use Rotella in my 03 Ram (5.9 gas)which has high mileage. Went to my local WM and looked at HDEO, Esso 0w30 and 10w30. Would either of these work, would they be good for the truck and if acceptable which grade? The truck's history is unknown to me and it will see low mileage...

sorry for my ignorance...are all hm oils synthetic? I was not aware of the sludge issue and am now worried. This was a farm truck and may have been "worked" without the pampering.

Man I wish my Jeep just had a dipstick for the tranny!! The dipstick tube is clamped shut, dealer service only. Kind of puts the backyard ( do it right ) mechanic out of business!

+1 on the motomaster tools. When they are on sale, man what a deal( if it's in stock)! Not a big fan of the Canadian Tire there by Rona, you may have liked the one in Brantford better. I find better deals there! It is nice to hear the sympathy though over our unfortunate price differences...

Thanks for the replies! I will go to the factory spec oil on my next oil change, although it seems to be a little harder to find in my small town. I was wanting to use synthetic but no real deals lately and the YB was on for 11.99. Hard to pass up!

Changed the oil in my 07 Jeep GC and put in Pennzoil YB 5w30. Oil cap states to use 5w20 in my 3.7. Have I made a big mistake with the w30? The motor has 45000 on it and is still under warranty...

I just did a rad flush on my 07 Jeep GC and was worried about going from the redish G05 to the Zerex's yellow. Zerex was easy to find at Walley's but dealership supply was out to lunch, hope I didn't make a mistake.
