    Oil Change hot or cold?

Do you guys prefer to change your oil hot or cold and why? I'm used to changing it hot. I've done it this way because I was taught that way. but now that I think about it, you may get more old oil volume out when it has cooled and drained out of the engine.

Transmission fluid for 1999 1500 Suburban

I am starting to doubt that the problem is truly the fluid. It has a p1870 code. I am starting to believe that it is a valve body solenoid of some type.

    cold drain vs. hot drain

Most people recommend that oil be drained when it's hot as opposed to cold. Supposedly more stuff comes out. But really, should it matter if you change your oil and filter? It seems that more oil would come out because none of it is still dripping down from the top of the engine. And it seems...

Ducati Dry Clutch Automotive vs. Motorcycle oil

As many people know, most Ducati's except 2004+ ST models came with dry clutches. Now most motorcyclist use motorcycle oils because of their wet clutches. What are the differences in motorcycle and automotive oil? Would there be advantages to using automotive oils on a ducati dry clutch?

    lsd mtf in non-lsd trans?

How are lsd mtfs different from non-lsd mtfs? Can you put a lsd mtf in a non-lsd transmission? I have an older 93 es300 with a e53 trans that I don't think is lsd, and I think the synchronizers are slow. so would using a lsd mtf help?

Recommend a gear lube for my problem

Actually, I'm in Georgia now. The low today was 17 degrees. I've considered MTL-R, but don't know enought about MTL-R. I know that Molakule knows his stuff. blocked out like a block of rubber.

Recommend a gear lube for my problem

Good questions Scout. The vehicle has 76,000 miles on a 93. Pretty low miles, but that means it was probably locally driven. 1st and second gear are like blocked out before the car warms up. It'll get into 3rd if I'm going down a hill and skip 1st and second. Or if I need to get into first I...

Recommend a gear lube for my problem

How do you drain PS fluid?

I haven't read any threads on how to change the PS fluid besides just the turkey baster method. How do you change out PS fluid? Drain it? or flush it? flush seems to encourage the possibility of running the pump dry. Maybe just turn the wheel while the engine is not running to release some...

Recommend a gear lube for my problem

I drive a 93 Lexus ES300 5speed. It's a really great car. Although when it's cold it doesn't always allow me to get into 1st or second. And sometimes, if I don't shift just right into second, it'll grind. Sometimes third too. If I shift quickly and the revs don't drop too much as I shift, it's...
