    Colonite 845 on White WRX

Nice car Pablo. I tried various sealants over the last 10+ years and am now a long-term user of Finiah Kare 1000P. Applied to clean (freahly polished) paint, with a second coat added a few days or more later (properly applied- thin and with light pressure), it gives a clear-coat type look and...

    White Car Care Q

We have a white Accord. I use Finish Kare 1000P sealant, has a clear coat type look, two coast put on properly last me six months here in the Northeast. Its a high temperature formula, originally developed for mold release, so you will find many people using it in high temp/hot sun locales like...

    Collinite #915 after 3+ months

Phishin, I think you will find that 845 or 476/885 will do much better for you in the winter than 915, carnaubas just don't last long regardless. Our car has to slug it our with Northeastern/New England winter conditions. I started using Finish Kare 1000P about 5 years ago and that works well...

    Second Coat of Collinite 845

I would suggest waiting at least 12 hours before applying the second coat. Apply thin and lightly.

Thing of Buying Collinite - Questions

I used both Collinite 476/885 and 845 on several cars before switching to Finish Kare 1000P. The Collinites are nice, not hard to get off if applied thin, decent edndurance, but I found that here in the Northeast, the FK 1000p lasts longer, stands up to both summer and winter weather better...

collinite 476 aggravations - by hand or machine

Same thing happened to me on a warm humid day. Had used 476s before, wasn't a rookie with it. But that particular day it dried hard as a rock, was a pain to get off even with a buffer. Have had less trouble with 845, which I use on my folks 93 LeSabre. Comes off without too much of a struggle...

    BFG Advantage T/A

I didn't see this thread in time...would have suggested looking at the BFG Traction T/A if snow traction is important along with all-season performance.

    Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max

One significant way to decrease rolling resistance is to inflate your tires, whatever the model. We keep ours at 40-41 cold (max 44 cold) and while the ride is a little firmer, it does help fuel economy.

    Early Tire Search

We just bought tires for our Accord. Looked at the options and came down to Michelin Primacy or Bridgestone Turanza Serenity. Got the Turanzas.

    Collinite

I respect Shelby's experience. I think that the synthetic polymers as a class last longer than most waxes, just based on the experience I have had with NuFinish on my mother-in-law's car and what others in our family have seen on their cars. One uses Liquid Glass and likes it. I have suggested...

    Collinite

Perhaps my results are atypical, but I'm getting quite a decent shine from the 476s paste wax on our Accord. I let it dry thoroughly and after rubbing off the dried wax, I did two careful slow buffing passes (by hand, not electric this time). I use NuFinish on my mother-in-law's Accord and the...

    Collinite

Tried Collinite after reading about how long it lasts, and how well it beads. Used the 845 Insulator Wax on my folks 93 Buick LeSabre (gold). The car has some paint wear, so it isn't an ideal sample, but it went on and came off easily and the beading is quite impressive, shine is more than...

Are all brand name gasolines equal?

Just got a 93 Buick LeSabre for my parents. Terry reco'd. Shell for it. Put in maybe 2/3 of a tank at a Shell in NJ then hit the road for western PA. Got 30 MPG highway on the trip. In our Accords, our best highway MPG trips have all been on fill-ups from Sheetz gas in PA, a regional chain...

When to replace Paper air filter. (Mileage)

We change the air filter about every 10-12,000 miles in our Honda (intake seems sensitive to airflow restriction). Lots of dirty air here in the Northeast, have to wipe out the air filter housing every now and then.

    Recommendation-1989 Honda Accord

We had an 87 Accord, it was a great car, finally had to give it up in 02 because of rust problems in the rear ball joints. Rest of car was in great condition at 176K miles, engine and transmission had at least 100K left in them. Valve adjustment would be a good idea. Auto-Rx is a good, safe...

    Acura 2003 Type S-- 5 w 20 in summer?

Is there any evidence that his engine wouldn't do just fine on xw20 oil, like hundreds of thousands of other Acura and Honda engines?

How many PENNZOIL PLATINUM users ?

5w20 in our 03 Accord 4 cyl. On our second OCI. One of the oils Terry Dyson recommended for our engine.

CS, PP or VS 5w20 for these Honda motors ?

I have run 5w20 "dinos" and full synthetic in our Hondas. Using Pennz Platinum at this time. Lots of good oil choices, check the UOAs.

0w or 5w-20? Can this stuff really

Ed, Fords and Hondas have been running on 0/5w20 oils for the last 7+ years. The engines in this generation of cars were designed to run these oils and they do just fine. The car manufacturers' oil specs are more demanding than in the past, you can read up on that. You'll see many excellent UOAs...

    Looking at Kumho Solus KH16

We have these tires on our 03 Accord (4 cyl.). Have put about 13,000 miles on them, 2/3 highway driving. We keep them inflated at 40 PSI. They have performed well for us, and they have only worn 1 or 2 2/32 from new(measured at 9/32 a month ago). We've been favorably impressed, they perform like...
