First car was a '77 Dodge Omni. Got it used right after I graduated in '80. I think I used QS 10w40 in it. Maybe 10w30? Can't really recall. I do recall it had a 1.7L VW engine in it.

Last time I changed the oil in my GTi, I saw that the Syntec 5w40 that I normally use was now re-badged as Edge. Same oil, from what I can tell. Same VW, BMW, Merc specifications. It was, of course, slightly more expensive than it was when I last bought it under the plain Syntec name.

What's funny is, for a couple of years, the jugs on the shelves were being downsized to 1-gallon jugs. I went through a period where I had to buy both a jug and an extra quart because all of my cars took 4.whatever quarts of oil.

Only if they are actually 5-lobed bits. That chart isn't clear. The little diagram next to the picture shows a 5-lobed arrangement. But the title calls them Hex bits, which would be the standard 6-lobed bits.

Has anyone been able to find a 5-lobe security bit or screwdriver set (the kind VW and other German makes love to use) at any mainstream retailers, like Sears, AAP, etc.? I can find mountains of Torx security sets, which are 6-lobe, but come-up dry searching for the 5-lobe variety. Thanks, Jim
