I've been using it in mine. I know it doesn't meet the VW 507 spec but I read somewhere someone had a 3.0 tdi that was using it with high miles (>200k) and no issues. The one difference I had was mine stopped consuming oil. It was taking ½ a quart every ~1500 miles on 5W-30 and now uses...

Rotella 5w-40 is the only oil I ran in my Tacoma that it consumed.... and that was around 150k miles (at 297k today). Otherwise it's been Mobil 1, Mobil Conventional, and some Pennzoil Platinum with no consumption @ 10k OCI. I don't hate Rotella (used lots in the diesel).

I've run 5w-40 in mine most of its life. Even a couple runs of 15w-40. Mostly 10k OCI. At 295k mine uses no oil.

A little over 10 years on the Duralast Gold in my Tacoma. Still started my truck this past winter at -20°F.

For what it's worth. I have a 2002 Tacoma with the 3.4L. I have done 10k OCIs since 50k miles. I'm at 262k and it never used oil between 10k changes with the exception of Rotella 5w-40. It used over a quart. Could have been 2 as I don't remember. This was at about 175k. Other than that run...

Pulled a sample just to check. Lead is a little concerning. Car isn't tracked. I did put a bottle of Techron in it for a tank...can't imagine that would cause lead to increase.

I had a 5 gallon pail of 15W-40 left over from a truck I sold, so did a summer run of it in my Tacoma. I'm surprised at how well this did for a cheap conventional. I realize 5K miles is conservative. Oils in the report are: Delvac 1300, , Mobil 1 TDT, Mobil 1 TDT, Pennz Ultra, Pennz Ultra...
