Well the BMW puked a water pump

Literally on the way to the dealer for an oil change special. Got the low coolant warning halfway there. Only a few miles away so no problem getting there. Pull into the shiny clean service entrance and coolant is pouring onto the tile. LOL. Service guy yells out, someone bring a mop! We got a...

Fedex founder and ceo Fred Smith stepping down after 50 years

Pretty amazing career. Came up with the idea in college and turned it into a profit. Say what you will about their home delivery, but the aviation division is world class. https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/money/industries/logistics/2022/03/28/fedex-fred-smith-ceo-raj-subramaniam/4455316001/

Rolex 24 at Daytona this weekend

Anyone going this weekend? I'll be there with my dad and my 10yo son. We're driving down tomorrow and coming home Monday. I'll be in the 340i. My dad will be in his 911S. He gets Porsche parking inside the track so I'll park at the hotel and ride with him to the track. This will be my son's...

Changed the oil on the 340i

Used 7 quarts of Castrol's finest. Cartridge oil filter located on rear driver side of engine. It looks worse than it is. Came right out. I never knew Castrol sealed their individual quarts! That was neat to see.

    2016 BMW 340i reliable?

BMW guys, I’m looking at a 2016 340i with 49,000 miles. It’s the b58 straight six turbo with 8 speed automatic. It has regular service records. It appears to be a lease turn in and is in perfect condition. From what I can see online these models are quite a bit more reliable than the previous...

Installed Continental ExtremeContact Sport on the Mustang

Got them at Discount Tire. Had a great experience. They had to special order them. Few days later they called, made an appt for next day, I was in and out in less than an hour and they were really busy. They did a perfect balance job and didn't scratch a single wheel. There were some nice...

You don't need to buy a Shelby GT500 to get a 750 hp Mustang with a warranty

This is one of the best kept secrets around right now. You can special order a new Mustang GT, and any Roush authorized Ford dealer will install the Roush phase 2 supercharger kit with 750 hp. This kit was developed by Roush and Ford Performance and is completely supported by Ford. OTD for...

Mustang 5.0 went 50,000+ miles with no oil change, still runs

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/5-0-50k-miles-overdue-for-oil-change.154635/ Doesn't seem like a troll he's been registered there for years. He finally got around to changing the oil and the car seems to be running fine. I think he kept it alive by using synthetic and just topping off...

New York Times article on Airbus FAL in Mobile, AL

Decent piece on the Airbus FAL in Mobile, AL. Lots of great pictures inside the FAL and also inside the half assembled aircraft. Author touches on some political topics, and the hourly wage data is completely wrong (I know a lot of people that work there) but the main reason I shared is because...

Witnessed accident and driver running from scene

So this morning on my way to work on the interstate, a few hundred yards in front of me a recliner falls off a trailer and lands in the left lane. Cars 1 and 2 swerve around it but car 3 nails it and fishtails into the guard rail. A lot of body damage but he stayed upright and didn't look too...

    Focus ST 1 year/30,000 miles

A short review/update of the Focus. Its been 1 year and 30,000 miles since I bought it new. I won't cover everything here so if you have any questions just ask. Not a single problem with it so far. Everything operates like new. I get 31 mpg on my work commute which is 60 miles each way and 90%...
