Ford 5.4 Liter Valve Noise - HELP

Mine also does this. It only did it occasionally with penzoil 5w20 or Schaeffer's 5w30, but since I put in the Castrol syntec blend 5w20 it has done it EVERY morning! I have only put about 300 miles on this oil, but I still think I am going to dump it today! My choices are Mobil 1 0w20...

Allright boys, got a question for ya.....

I have been having a problem with lifter noise at start-up. This only happens after the oil has been in there for 2,000 miles or so. I first noticed this with penzoil 5w20 at about 1900 miles after the truck sat overnight I would get a little ticking for a second or two. I switched to schaeffers...

Also I know that Penzoil is a good conventional oil (I currently am running there 5w20 for my first change)...

Am I the only Mobil 1 hater here?

I have never been impressed with this oil, for reasons of increased engine noise, increased consumption, oil seeming to get dark to quickly for my likeing and a seemingly decreased smoothness in engine operation when compared to Amsoil or regular old dino. anybody else feel the same?

    2000 mile oil changes?

I know that 2k oil changes are unnecassary, but my question is would 2k OCI with Castrol or penzoil conventional 5w20 offer similar protection to a synthetic at 5k OCI? I do not want to go past 5k miles while under warranty. My driving consists of some around town with a daily higway commute of...
