If there is any oil that you could get(no questions asked, free)? What would it be and why?
I would also like to hear opinions on Amsoil Series 3000 vs there 5/30, 10/30 formulas. Right now trying to decide between the Series 3000 or Redline. I've tried doing a oil analysis on the batch of...
I was justing wondering how every1 on this site, would compare Redline vs Amsoil in every day usage? I know Redline makes great racing oils but in everyday usage what is every1's opinion on both oils?
All responses are appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try GC 0-30 it may help I also had a similar problem with Mobil 1 10-30/and a defective K&N oil filter . Switched over to a Wix/NAPA Gold #51356 and GC quieter engine. Also try a different filter you might have got a bad one??

If you keep switching so often you'll never know what works better. Have you done oil analysis yet on any of them?

Why kind of car do you have? What type of engine is in your car? Personally, I would like to see a UOA with Redline 5w-40. By the way, no one will know what...
I'm changing my oil yet again at 23000 miles. I have used Mobil 1 5-30 w/good result , Mobil 1 10-30(start up noise, also found defective K&N oil filter part of problem) , and the current GC 0-30 . Right now I would like to try RL 5-40 or maybe Amsoil. Any feedback greatly appreciated...
Nismo,
Just to add to our information base a little, what the is the filter orientation (open end up, sideways, angled, or open end down) on the two engines you used the K&Ns on?
On my SE-R its mounted sideways, and on her car it's at an angle.
Just yesterday, I replaced the K&N HP1010 that I installed 2 months ago. The anti-drain back valve was not working . I had start up valve noise that I never experienced with the Mobil M110 or the OEM filter 15208-9E000 . I installed a Wix 51356 and no more noise. Now I'm not bashing K&N's...
Thanks for the replies. I replaced the K&N oil filter HP1010 with a Wix 51356 and the QS fully synthetic 10-30 with GC. Valve noise problem solved I think my SE-R hates K&N oil filters . Smooth driving so far. I never had problems with Mobil 1 M110 or the
OEM filter 15208-9E000.
For my next oil change I'm planning to use one of the following D1 5-40, GC 0-30, or Redline 10-30, or maybe a brew of 3 M1 10-30 and 1.5 15-50 M1. I hate the start up noise with M1 10-30 by itself. If it helps I've got the 2.5L Nissan engine w/ almost 15000 miles. Any feedback is welcomed.
I've use Nissan's 15208-9E000, Mobil 1 M110, and about 2 months ago I stalled a K&N HP1010(w/QS synthetic 10-30 A3-98 rated) for my SE-R.
I'm going back to Mobil 1 5-30, although I really want to try Delvac 1 if I can find it here in Dallas.
Its time for the second oil change for my car. Should I stick with Mobil 1 or is the Chevron Supreme Synthetic 5-30 just as good. I've got both in my garage. For the filter I'm using a K&N HP1010 filter.
I'll pick up a 15208-9e000, from my friends at the dealership. I had a k&n hp1010 and a amsoil sdf13 oil filters that my previous frontier used, sitting in the garage before it was . Again thanx!!!!!!!!!!!

I think either the German Castrol Syntec 0W-30 or Mobil 1 0W-40 would be a great choice for your new ride.
Thanks for the info. I will try the Castrol Syntec, since I can get it where I work at...
