Does catalytic cleaner fuel additive actually work?

I've only had the car for a year. It may have had issues previously. A counter guy at Napa is suggesting I put O2 sensor spacers in. How would that work?

Does catalytic cleaner fuel additive actually work?

Boy I'd want A LOT of feedback before I pour a hot solvent like this in my tank.

Does catalytic cleaner fuel additive actually work?

How can I tell for sure between marginal O2 sensors and bad cats? Engine is running fine. New plugs, new battery (hence new reset), clean MAF & TB, not burning oil. Cats are **** expensive--i don't want to be guessing at this.

Does catalytic cleaner fuel additive actually work?

O2 sensors involved in the cat efficiency determination? Some other connection?

Does catalytic cleaner fuel additive actually work?

I've been getting a check engine light about every 500 miles and it's always for "low catalytic efficiency". Doesn't affect driveability but the light prevents my remote start from working. Does catalytic cleaner fuel additive help, or is it snake oil? 2010 Chev Traverse, 135k miles

Is it true European service intervals run as high as 20k miles?

Thank you. Yes the discussion I mentioned was in MILES. 2 years or 20,000 miles OCI, specified by the mfr--not oil companies. I guess if my Chevy had some engine problem blamed on lubrication I should say "I'm from Germany and this engine goes 20k miles between oil changes there, why not here?"

Is it true European service intervals run as high as 20k miles?

I was just reading comments on an international forum that oil change intervals spec'd by the mfrs can be as much as 20k miles. They think we're nuts for adhering to 3k or 5k. Do the same mfrs spec different intervals depending on destination?

"Break in oil" for reman engine

Too late for that. A 90's jeep is about all I can afford but I've already put too much time & money into THIS truck to walk away now.

"Break in oil" for reman engine

Why only "years ago"? We're talking about a reman engine -- no coated cylinders here. I have a motor-head buddy that tells me the new brake in is NOT to baby a motor for 1000 miles. Put dino oil in it & run it hard right way. Seats the rings while the crosshatching is still sharp in the...

"Break in oil" for reman engine

No you can't --you'll just have to deal with someone else's problems. And that's why I'm repairing instead of replacing.

"Break in oil" for reman engine

I did that. I drained the oil at 400 miles into a clean pan and then slowly poured it into my usual used oil jug. I didn't see any glitter or metal of any kind but the residue in the pan did have some red shop rag lint in there. I used a Wix filter for my refill but in the future I intend to use...

"Break in oil" for reman engine

Well maybe it's as simple as ATK hasn't rewritten their recommendations in a decade or more. That's a possibility.

I could use some help interpreting Torque app data

Why couldn't I purchase a separate AP200 for each make in my driveway and never pay for annual renewals? I really hate the subscription business scam model.

"Break in oil" for reman engine

I bought a 2010 Chevy Traverse 19 months ago & it's spent 7 of those in the shop. Truly a TL/DR post but suffice it to say I'm paranoid now that I've got my truck back & it's running good. It's now got an ATK reman 3.6L. The warranty paperwork says they don't recommend syn oil during the 600...

I could use some help interpreting Torque app data

Am I reading the product description correct that the AP200 will connect to only one make vehicle and others cost $21.99 each per year per subscription? I'm not clear if even the initial software purchase (for 1 chosen make) lasts beyond 1 year.

I could use some help interpreting Torque app data

I can't seem to find any description or review that shows which PIDs the Autel can access so I don't know if it will display Fuel Rail Pressure Command. It appears pretty much the same as Torque Pro + adapter, only there's more support for Torque.

I could use some help interpreting Torque app data

I'm confident the shop I used didn't change the stock mapping. If they had done such a thing I would hope it would come out when I informed them of this issue I'm having with the pump.

I could use some help interpreting Torque app data

I do have Pro... But I'm having a hard time finding the spot in their endless menus that tells me whether I've paid for all the extras. I can't remember.

I could use some help interpreting Torque app data

I want to add that i'm glad I posted this question here. Even tho it isn't a lube topic I knew I would get to a level of technical detail not possible in the normal car & truck forums. I had posted this in a Traverse forum I frequent and got nothing but crickets.

I could use some help interpreting Torque app data

Ok thanks for the details on the short vs long term numbers. Kinda opposite what I thought. I don't have a "good" scanner. I have an Innova 5160RS. It shows the fuel rail reading but neither it nor the Torque app displays the Command. I don't think it's a limitation of the OBD2 adapter--HPFP...
