'07 Tundra, no known trans fluid changes at 144k

Son just bought a very nice '07 Tundra 4.7 2wd that spent its life in Florida. Looks like the previous owner took very good care of it, as it came with a folder full of maintenance receipts. However, I don't see any evidence that the auto trans fluid has ever been changed. I'm tempted to do a...

Servicing '13 Cadillac SRX AWD Haldex unit

Hello all. I had a heck of a time finding the proper filter kit and fluid for my wife's '13 Cadillac SRX AWD rear axle clutch. It's a Haldex unit, and GM acts like these are non-serviceable. It's an easy job once you're under the car. I had a little issue of one of the bolts recessed in the...

    John Deere LT155 gauge install

Hello all. Today I installed an oil pressure gauge and volt gauge on my LT155. I've owned this tractor since new (bought in 2001) and it now has 363 hours on the clock. Daman gave me the inspiration and encouragement to tackle this job. Here goes: I decided to go with Sunpro's 1.5"...

Techron is my "ace in the hole!"

Once again, a finicky 2-stroke carb is smacked back into shape with a dose of Techron in the fuel. It's spring here and I'm pulling out all my OPE to see if I have any problems going on. My Echo string trimmer, despite being run dry last fall, started fine, but wouldn't reach top RPM under...

Just serviced my "unserviceable" Tuff torq K51

Holy smokes what a pain that was......My John Deere LT155 is about 8 years old and has 300 hours on it. I HATE that the transaxle that JD put in it is "unserviceable." That is, you can't (easily) change the oil, and if it dies, you're supposed to toss it and put a new one in it. So upon the...

New Honda Genset-- what would you use?

I'm the proud papa of a new Honda EB5000 genset. It has the GX340 engine. It will be a backup unit, excersized monthly when not in use. Honda says to use 10w-30 and change after the first 20 hrs, then every 100 hours thereafter. To me, this seems like an awfully long time between changes...

So what do I do with all this SAE 30 oil??????

Okay.....I've been educated that oil has come a long way since I was a kid.....and SAE 30 ain't the way to go with air cooled engines anymore. Actually, I now obsess about oil since I've discovered this site....... My oil shelves have made way for the new tough guys on the block...M1, Amsoil...

    Kohler ok's SAE30 in Command Engines...your take?

My John Deere tractor has a 15hp Command engine, and for 8 years I've been using 10w-30 as they reccomended. Now I find this: Kohler bulletin Now, if the temps are above 50 degrees F, they say testing show SAE 30 shows good results..... What say the oil junkies here????

    Drainzit!

With as much as we oil fanatics love to change oil, I'm amazed that a search for "drainzit" doesn't return any hits. I've installed them on all my "pain to change" equipment (snowblower, pressure washer, generator) and they really make changing your oil a breeze. Anyone else here a drainzit fan?
