Average new car price is $50K ? Insanity.

I think this is the general consensus. I believe it was touched on a few times by a few automotive C-levels in the news. Almost a subscription based service (TaaS - Transportation as a Service), especially as AD (Autonomous Driving) becomes standardized. The rationale is that this vehicle a...

Another Sludge Engine help Question pls. *w/pics*

I agree, was making the statement that it’s just preferable you don’t use anything outside of a regular high quality oil and shorter OCIs. MMO just a reference to other products and tricks of the trade (Tranny Fluid) that are usually thrown out there.

Another Sludge Engine help Question pls. *w/pics*

Generally the older advice and it is sound advice is that it's better to do it over time. It will gradually clear up on it's on as you do your regular oil changes on time, maybe 3k instead of 5k depending on the type of driving you do. Generally you could replace 1 qt or 1/2 a qt of oil the...

    Interesting lunch hour

There is also a lawsuit regarding some engines from Subaru that areally burning oil. I'd research and monitor the vehicle to make sure it's not something more than a potential fill mistake that one time.

This is one reason I prefer to do my own oil

I feel your pain! Toyota dealer near work did an oil change on my Venza. Drove 6500 miles and when it was time for an oil change noticed a bunch of oil on the bottom of the pan and a drip from the plug! It was barely threaded in! Just did the front and rear differentialseat on my frontier and...

I didn't do anything about the clip, it closed the lid (it's loose) but the clip is actually part of the box in there..so replacing it would be a monumental effort. I went outside and removed the wiper cowl and really couldn't find an entry way, but I know it has to be there. I'll try again...

Hey guys. Recently purchased a used 2012 Nissan Frontier with about 45k on the clock. I gave it a thorough look over and it seemed to be a pretty decent purchase. Bought it in January 2016. Cold weather, fan seemed kind of "meh", took a while to heat the truck up, and constantly got the smell...
