Rebuilt caliper = reseized caliper? Help!

Has the exact same issue on our former 2011 Fusion last year. I replaced both front calipers, only to end up finding that it indeed was a bad front brake line. Also, like your case, even though the caliper wasn’t the issue, the problem did briefly go away after the caliper was replaced for some...

22mmX1.5 vs 3/4"X16 oil filter crossover

I can confirm that those two filters do NOT have 22x1.5 threads. Been using them both for years, and they definitely use 3/4-16. It’s even stamped into the baseplate.

22mmX1.5 vs 3/4"X16 oil filter crossover

Im not sure what you’re asking… the FL910s and the FL400s have the same 3/4-16 thread. The latter is basically a slightly longer version of the former, and are completely interchangeable (space permitting).

    2006 Hyundai Azera

Can’t speak to that exact vehicle, but I have the same engine and 5-speed automatic in my 2008 Sedona with 219k miles. Still going strong. Transmission still shifts more predictably than most newer vehicles haha. Has an occasional hard downshift or mild flare, but otherwise is great.

    2018 CRV 40.1k mi // M1 EP HM 5W30 1.6k mi - Fuel Dilution Bonanza!

I also use Euro oils in our Explorer 2.3 GTDI. We do lots of short trips, in the cold, with the occasional longer trip here and there. Oil definitely has a fuel smell at all times 😮 I limit the OCI to around 5,000 miles. Never had a UOA done, but I can only assume that the fuel dilution I know...

    Ubiquiti/Unifi experts, come in!

I’ll only have two APs on my system (tops, might not even need the second one), and given my current hardware it’ll be easier to just use the injectors that come with them. What’s the downside of using injectors vs a PoE switch? Other than the switch being a cleaner install.

    Ubiquiti/Unifi experts, come in!

My topology will be: Unifi USG -> 8 port gigabit switch -> all hardwired devices including hardwired APs (using PoE injectors).

    Ubiquiti/Unifi experts, come in!

Looking for an answer to a specific question I have about meshing several Unifi APs together. For context, I’m mildly familiar with Unifi products. Our place of worship has a USG, which feeds into a Unifi PoE switch, which feeds, amongst other connected devices, a single Unifi AP. No meshing is...

Really impressed with Monster Jam / an ode to motorsport

Attended my first Monster Jam event at Ford Field today in Detroit. I have to say, I love how the series operates. Also, it’s super underrated and needs more eyeballs on it. I am admittedly a racing super fan. Been following racing and attending races since I was a little kid. I follow F1...

    Mobile 1 0W-40 with TFSI

The newest formulation of M1 0w40 is API SP anyway (LSPI mitigating). As such, the calcium levels aren’t elevated in comparison anymore. I use the newest SP-rated euro oils in my Ecoboost Explorer with no worries.

Suggestions for narrow wiper inserts for rear blade?

Look on Amazon. You can buy generic refills and cut to length. That’s what I do, and I reuse the steel “springs” that slot into the rubber. Measure the insert width, and search for that width specially.

iPhone XR drop into ocean water

Yep, this. Charging ports normally have some amount of lint/dirt already in there, so the salt is likely sticking to this and giving you trouble. Likely fixable by rinsing the port out and letting it dry.

The quest for more turbo noise, part 2: What does this intake resonator do???

I’m not sure… I assume that spooling noise ultimately resonates through the intake. I’m not worried about hacking it up, since I’m leaving the one on the vehicle alone; this unit is an extra that I bought for science 😎 also, I wouldn’t feel comfortable plugging it from the inside, since the...

The quest for more turbo noise, part 2: What does this intake resonator do???

Similarly… I’ve driven the early 2010s era Escape, and also the mid 2010s Escape, both with the ‘same’ turbo engine. The earlier vehicle had a MUCH more audible turbo. Ford must have tuned out that noise in the later years of the same engine.

The quest for more turbo noise, part 2: What does this intake resonator do???

This is in regard to our 2016 Explorer 2.3 EcoBoost turbo. Vehicle is stock (why would you modify an Explorer anyway?). Anyway, last summer I experimented with a DIY cold air intake just to see what effect it would have on the turbo/induction noise. This was a cheap science project. I wasn't...

    2015 Kia Sedona Coolant Type

Zerex Asian would be the correct coolant, although it sounds like the dealer probably used a dexcool type. Just use Peak 10x. Compatible with anything and doesn’t use 2EHA. It’s my go-to for all my vehicles now.
