    King Arnold's Kingdom

Is this not unnecessarily redundant? Arnold's kingdom is enough info. King Arnie's krib is kute and kitchy, if not korrect. If must King Arnold's land seems more accurate. You think some would know and kare, even if I don't. I knew something bothered me, and it was more than tone, kontent, and...

    Bitog records

Does anyone keep such things? Like number of views with no posts. I may not get the record, but may have a contender for the leader board. This post itself may get it's own spot.

    Taking stock

Fairly open question here, what are say 3 things that you KNOW about oil right now. This can be from this site, personal knowledge, or research. I will also ask the converse, what are 3 things you DO NOT KNOW about oil right now.

    OBD1 vs. OBD2

I have a 97 neon with supposedly both systems. If you do the on-off-on-off-on thing with key, the cel will flash codes. The one I get is 14, and looking it up- low volts from MAP sensor. The underdash OBD2 port does not say this, and I have had it to shops and they don't tell this either. Back...

    Need router or not?

Friend has DSL modem, wants to run PC and 360 at same time, is the DSL wide enough bandwidth to run both? should upgrade to cable/fiber optic line? Should a router be used or will a hub suffice? Are there DSL modems with 2 ethernet outputs? Thanks for any/all remarks.

base oil group vs. time in use

Would it be possible to use the base oil group as a rough guide to time of use? For example group 1 use for 2-3 months max, group 2 use for 6 months max, group 3 use for 1 yr. max, group 4/5 possible useage 1yr.+ up to about 2-3 yrs. max. Yes add pack is important, as is the total product, but...

    splash vs. pump

In a engine that uses splash oil circulation, will a mulit-visc oil act as it would in a pump type. The vii's thicken up the oil and make it harder to pump, but does that happen in a splashing application, or will oil splashability depend on that of the base oil viscosity more than the...

    google warnings

There is a site that I frequent that previously did not have the may be harmful to your computer warning, then it did have it. Now when I check back the warning is gone. Does this mean that the issue is resolved?, if so by whom? google or the site.

    Safest flush

Aside from ARX, for those who must use other things, which of those is the "safeest" to use. Also any ideas for methodes to use. For example my car has oil filler directly into oil pan, so I feel fairly safe pouring certain solvents/cleaners into the oil pan. This is primarily to remove the...

Sorry if post is in wrong place. I just today drove past what appeared to be a soon to open O' Riley's. I wonder if this is the same store that I have read about on the forum before. If it is what brands will I find here? What sorts of deals/sales? Store is in southern Hillard Ohio area if...

should we stop calling it motor oil

I think there is some need if not interest in replacing/updating the sae motor oil labeling system. For general public it can be misleading or confusing. Maybe a start could be to stop calling it motor oil and switch to engine lubricant, sort of like saying coolant instead of antifreeze/water...

    oil without vii's

People on the forum often ask early on is say 10w30 oil really 10 weight oil treated to act like 30 weigth hot? I think not. Example rotella 30 wt. very good stuff could be called a 20w30 perhaps. Add some vii's and now say 20w40. A little work on cold temp flow and 15w40, from a 30 wt. base...

    new great idea

How about say oil pans with inspection ports 3-4 inches across via screw on type cover. Should be placed to give access and clear view of oil pickup screen. No need to drop whole pan to take a look, espically good on those engines that need to move suspension or exhaust to drop pan. Also allows...

do you really need an oil filter

Do you really need an oil filter after say the engine is broken in. I have read that this is primarally why there installed to catch break in metals that would quickly kill the engine. After break in wear metals are much lower and less of a threat.

    pcv systems

Hello, first post. My question is about pcv systems, specifically why other than convenience is the air inlet usually located in the valve/rocker cover? It seems a better location for inlet air is into the crankcase to more easily sweep up blow-by gases.
