    BG Synthetic 0w30

BG makes some good products. And their oil is probably fine. That said, its probably MORE expensive than say M1 or PP etc... might as well go with a proven brand unless you WANT to test it..

Anyone buy motor oil from their local distributor?

I buy all the oil for our dealership from the exxon mobil distributor. However, for everything other than M1 5w30 which we get in bulk, walmart is cheaper.

    CQ synthetic = valvoline synpower?

I was told by someone at Carquest that their branded synthetic was actually Valvoline Synpower. Yet...its half the price? Was just curious if this is true, or is it like synpower minus all the good stuff in the add pack?

    5k OCI's at Jiffy Lube

Who in their right mind would pay $100 for a synthetic oil change at a jiffy lube? What are they charging $15/qt? I work for a dealer and we charge $6/qt for M1 5w30 plus I think its $5.25 for a filter (delco) and thats for anyone coming in. So with labor you are at $55 or $60. Vs $29.95 for...

    Transitioning from dinosour to synthetic

My oil rep told me that if a car has say 80k on it...all on dino, and you fill it up with synthetic to have a shorter OCI on your first run, as most synthetics clean better, and therefore you could be running with really dirty oil if you go for a long time. He recommended like a 3-5k change...

Genuine GM Motor Oil 5W-30 Super Synthetic

GM Goodwrench oil is Exxon Mobil. I doubt they are going to go somewhere else for their synthetic. * At least in the states it is. Can you find a part number for it anywhere? I could do some research if I had a number for it.

    Opinions on Royal Purple?

I had a vendor (who doesn't sell RP...he's our BG rep) telling me that Royal purple was the best synthetic out there...and WAY better than M1 and PP et al. Just curious what the consensus around here is? Is it worth the extra price? I did a search, but there wasn't a whole lot of info..

AC Delco oil filter come stock on all GM vehicles?

GM vehicles come with an acdelco filter, but its got a red label generally rather than the normal blue one. I think its just to designate it as the original factory filter. I do know the vibes were coming with toyota filters for awhile, not sure if they still are or not.
