    SAE30 in OHV?

I just bought a new craftsman professional self propelled with the 7.75 OHV briggs. I have always used either rotella or briggs 30W in the old flathead 5hp briggs on my old murray. Is this still a good choice for the OHV engines? Would 5w30 synthetic be better, or maybe RTS 5w40?

    Clean Machine Non-Stick Mower Protectant

http://www.goodvibrationsgrip.com/clean-machine/ Anyone ever try this stuff? I bought a can and sprayed it on the old push mower yesterday. I'll have to wait a week to see if it works. I mowed the day before. I let it dry overnight and it still felt sticky. I'm not sure that a can of regular...

    Homemade Quadra-Cut?

Does anyone know if you can put two blades on any mower like Honda does on theirs? I have an old murray push mower that has a single round hole for a bolt and two flat pieces that sandwich the blade. I thought about putting two blades on it just to see what it would do. It still runs really good...

    5w-20 Best OTC?

I want to run synthetic in my '08 f150 (5.4l). If they were the same price, which is the best oil for year round use out of Mobil 1, PP or Synpower, etc. . The truck sees highway miles, towing, and sometimes sets for a week at a time. I plan to keep this truck a long time and I believe that the...

    Motorcraft Full Synthetic

I have heard very little discussion regarding MC Full Syn 5w-20. I know that it is usually only available at dealerships and is a little pricy but how does it compare with other popular synthetics? Is it worth the extra cost over MC SynBlend 5w-20?

Any Idea Who Makes Briggs & Stratton's Oil

I've started using B&S 30wt oil for the old murray push mower that I have. Does anyone know who makes it? I really like that the bottles have just the right amount in them. Keeps me from overfilling it. I figure if it is certified by Briggs for warranty purposes, it should be good enough and its...

Local Wal-Mart Now Carrying Synpower 5w20

I have been using motorcraft 5w-20 but recently noticed that the walmarts in this area have started to carry Synpower 5w-20. I am sure temped to switch, but at $21 it is a bit more pricy than MC. I just would like to have the extra protection of a syn since it sure does get hot here in the...

    Other Manufacturer's Oil

Motorcraft oil seems to be the only OEM type oil that gets any discussion on here. I wonder how many people are using this Ford oil in vehicles from other manufacturers. Do other car companies approve Motorcraft oils? Last time I checked it was not approved for use in GM vehicles (big...

    What about Synpower

PP seems to be the one of the favored oils on bitog. I was just wondering how many people here use Valvoline Synpower. It seems that it only gets mentioned with regards to Mobil 1's alleged problems and Valvoline's ad.

    Thinking of switching

I have always used GTX 10w-30 at 3k OCI in the wife's trailblazer just because that was what I used in my '98 Chevy p/u. I have done some reading since I bought a new truck and concluded that I probably should have been using the 5w-30 that was spec'd. I was thinking of switching it to a...

Motorcraft Synthetic Blend is really inexpensive.

I recently purchased a 2008 Ford Supercrew with a 5.4l engine. Of course the manual and the dealer recommend Motorcraft oil and filters which you would expect. I have only 6000 miles on the truck and have changed it twice with MC oil and filter. I have read on BITOG that MC syn blend is a good...
